Hi Traders,
another week has passed which means it's time for a quick recap, new updates summary as well as a regular Q&A.
Starting off with some good news for our crypto traders: on Saturday, 27th of November, the usual platform maintenance and market break will be reduced to 8 AM – 10 AM (GMT+2) for MetaTrader4 and MetaTrader5 platforms. On cTrader, the market break will be unchanged (8 AM – 2 PM GMT+2 as per the specifications).
Today is also the last day during which the trading hours of certain instruments (mainly US equities, indices, and commodities) are changed, so beware of the early closes.
There are no significant updates or changes to announce as we remain mostly backend-focused. Some of the minor adjustments that you may notice is the increased availability of certain payment providers to some countries (mostly the US) and new certificates for our traders (available in your Client Area at https://trader.ftmo.com/certificates).
Before we move on to your recent posts, there is one final achievement I’m proud to mention.
With growth of 39,432% for the past 4 years, FTMO won the fastest growing tech company in Central Europe award by Deloitte for the year 2021! Some of you may know that we won similar awards in the past in the Rising Stars category determined for young firms. This was our first time in the main category and we’re truly proud to represent the trading industry in such a way. This of course would not be possible without you, our traders, so the award partially belongs to you too. More details are available here. I’m also attaching a frame from the official report.

To my surprise, around 25 new posts appeared here during the past week, unfortunately, many of them were completely unrelated to FTMO or trading in general and included rather plain accusations and personal agendas.
Targeting us as “scammers” with no further explanation and advertising your own websites/threads here is pointless and in some cases violates the local code of conduct. I would therefore like to ask PaulMF and PipsFestival to stop clogging the thread with their own personal agendas towards other traders and use direct messages instead. If there is a legitimate complaint about our services, I will be glad to publicly discuss it (after all, receiving feedback is the purpose of our forum).
I’m not aware that we would ever ban anyone here and we’d prefer keeping it that way.

Hi Zapcity, I spoke to my colleagues about the past week's situation on BTCUSD and I can confirm that we recorded a few quick freezes on Friday and during the weekend. I apologize for the incorrect response you’ve received on LiveChat, such instances are definitely not “usual”, I believe our support staff had not been informed at the time. I’m glad you managed to exit the trade just fine, but had you been negatively affected, then in this case, we would definitely offer fair compensation.
Hi Feelas, this particular spike occurred at 8 PM platform time, which is exactly at the same time the NZFMA convention takes place (also known as the second NZD rollover). Naturally, the charts with NZD currency might display volatile price action including spread widening and/or execution slippages which traders should definitely be aware of. If you check datafeeds from other providers as well, you’ll see more less similar spikes as it is natural market behavior. Recently, we published a short article covering this topic - you may find it here. The time of the rollover also changes with the daylight saving/standard time changeover.
Hello Thj79, what else should I say, well done! Now keep in mind that you’ll have double the time to meet half the Profit Target in the Verification, so there’s no need to hurry. Fingers crossed!

I was in a BTC trade yesterday (explained in the diagram) where the Bid line was stuck and wouldn't move at all for around 2 minutes, while the Ask price was moving up rapidly. I restarted my MT5 terminal multiple times while the spread was growing to almost 1000.00 (bid = 58785.00 and ask = 59785.00). After 2 minutes the Bid price moved up to the Ask and I got out for a huge profit. This is not normal spread behaviour at all. I've never seen this happen before. I went on live chat, but all they could tell me was the usual thing i.e., volatility...

Well, that was kind of fun. I'm a little proud to have passed on the first try. But to be honest, it was a lot of luck, DAX made the difference. You don't see a move like today every day... {image}
