i post real time trades for what i believe to be the next swing. sometimes im right others not so right but i post them to give me more focus.

I need to ask this - why are people so insistent on 'showing their trades' .... on a public forum ...... that's mostly anonymous ....... for the whole world to see?

- It reminds me of the skit I saw years ago where the pro card player was 'teaching' his kid how to play poker by showing his cards multiple times. He was so focused on doing it that he forgot that there were other players at the table. In the end he lost all his money.

I think it's kinda funny how emphatic people can be with trading.

I'm not asking people to respond. Felt it was worth bringing up so people can think about it. Evryone seems so quick with a reason but I don't see people really thinking it through.

Unreliable? No, not in the least you are just trying to trade what you want the given market to do, instead of what the market is doing.

You maybe right about a scam when all dollar pairs move that big at once. But to call it a scam makes me kind of want to shrug my shoulders and accept it and say "Oh well".

But I prefer to call it something more, because for it to occur at once across multiple pairs just seems like something that is too big to hide. I really want to get to the bottom of it, as if we can work it out, it could be really useful. No major US news at the time either.

Also, I am interested that you said that you can take advantage of these multi currency moves with a type of scalp strategy? What do you look for as a trigger in those situations? Thanks again

1.Which card player is good? The one who just says he's good or the one you've seen win?
2.Can a person who can't win in cards teach people how to become a winner in cards?
3.When you publish your BUY EURUSD does the market have a better chance of winning over you? Will you be in danger?

When I started I was impressed by people who showed me something I didn't know or couldn't do. But now when I look back, I don't see people helping each other, I see people struggling towards the light. When I look at a posted chart i see the components but not the 'identity' of the poster. And I have learned that I don't really know anyone really online, unless they're someone I have a real life relationship with in the flesh. It kinda means that most people want 'celebrityism' rather than to really learn. That's my take on it though. I'm not too concerned if someone else is winning at their trading coz I am trying to help MY trading improve. I now know that there are traders out there who steal other people's strategies and lie and cheat and so, apart from being pretty narcissistic, a public forum to disclose everything is to me bad judgment.

I reckon if you have a look at people as they are instead of what they choose to share, all things become more real and my trading has got better by being honest and seeing that I am solely responsible for my view on evrything trading and money related. I'm still young so i know there's more to learn but hey, I know i cant get better by watching others do i have to do myself, make notes then go again. I don't really think many people around are fit to really teach. a pretty huge % of people Ive met still live in la-la-land and 'live' on forums. again just my take on it all. Maybe why here2there started this thread. I mean what do ya do when you look into the abyss? And what are you expecting?

I don't see how copying others is a good thing. I can copy their indicator settings and all that but as ive learned the hard way up is always up and down is always down. So a 50/50 chance view cannot be sustained on its own by anything or anyone in trading or finance. There's always a break in the trend or view of what happens. So i would say a person should change their view as many times as possible before saying "i know what i'm doing" or "i know evrything about what this thing is".

People wanna talk about the same things over and over. That skinned cat must be gettin pretty worn out by now. my take on 50/50 => learn to be very selective and accept when youre wrong whatever the size of the mistake.

just my 2cents.

Some people here live the life of a big traders. They know draw a graph full of nice colored lines, they teach everyone how the market works, they know how trade big players, but the fact is that they can't make a profitable trade.When someone tells them, they are irritated and offended. This thread is also about this.

US is nr1 (or nr2... after China if GDP adjusted by PPP) economy. No magic here. On strong US news move all $ pairs.

Newbie reads fxstreet,forexlive,dailyfx talking heads, and thinking i can do it , i can do it. No HE/She CAN'T.

Most people start trading thinking ( i am special i am not others), its easy drive as Carousel Car. WHooa is it surprise when press pedal down, high performance sport car, and end up hit his head to wall.

Somehow people end up bird nest with cuckoo,and thiking I am natural born flier. Jumping to financial freedom.

All this has wroten thousand times in forexfucktory, that's why here is not lot these successful traders, they are in they small groups, discord.

Hi Lest, this post made me curious. When you come to FF, what exactly are you looking for? While it is true that some people do want to be big fish in small ponds, I think most just want to hang out. You seem frustrated and was wondering if there is any way for the factory to help you?

Never said that. Never trade multi currency. I'm trading only XAU, BTC, GU and EU. I can trade only high volatile instrument listed on CME, because I need volume data. I'm trading only imbalances, market insufficiencies. I'm only interested in general currency direction, because the decision what trade to open depends on it too. But since I'm not good in news analyzing I'm not making any decision because of news (just globally - is there any red news today or not, because if yes there will be good volume so it will be much safe to trade).

I don't know. Is it because parents tell they child often don't do it, you can't do it.

Sometimes there are stories in magazines, some of poker players or athletes about how well they trade. Is it Urban legend, what are real numbers how many trade well ? and is there any help from parents support and how these individuals has learn when take a risk and learn to read game.

You rely on visible volumes? Those made by pending orders? How abot hidden volumes? I keep money on account and execute orders instantly. Nobody know what i will do. And not expose sl/tp all controlled by EAs.

Of course it is traded volume. Because you are right, since forex has no difference is fees for limit orders and for market orders most traders are using market orders.
But this suggests that forex does not need liquidity. Because only limit orders and stops are real liquidity. That's why it is so hard to believe in all that magic tick data and same movements all over the world at the same time.

I wrote exact instructions how to trade MSFT dips a lot of times. Don't know if anybody tried that..

Maybe people are stubborn and overfocused on particular assets? For example, most beginners start with EURUSD and stay on that. Funny... it is important to know when up/down trend starts/ends and people try to catch those trends in currencies but ignore the fact that in some stocks and indices there exist strong uptrends for more than 10 years

I'm just making profits month after month on MSFT dips 9 months in a row. Ok, I sit in dd for about 6 weeks (~ -7%). Most people can't handle dd so long maybe.

Maybe people want "trading" and don't want to "get money"? I don't care what asset to trade.. as long it is profitable.

Here for example I trade GBPUSD. GBPUSD is a very choppy currency (maybe only EURGBP is more choppy). I exploit that. Don't care about trends here. All I need is as much flat/choppy market.

Yes, I use averaging here - but not greedy. If needed - close all opened levels and accept the loss (never hapened so far but EAs are ready to do that). Maybe greed is the main issue of failure? Expecting too much profits with not propper capital.. If i look retrospectively on those 2 my EAs then see small dd... and might think.. "Hey lets increase volume 5x.. it would be still no more than 30% dd.. why not? earn 5x more" ... that's a trap. Have backtested 10 years and know that shit happens and there might be serie of unexpected bad deals and dd can be with current deal sizes allready 25%. This might be another reason why many fails - you dont know asset you trade. You have to know very well product you are trading. I mean history. and then double historical dd 2x - just in case. Be ready for that.

People maybe are over optimistic. Have small capital? Trade cent accounts first. Dont expect to earn for living if have small capital. Forget about that. You can rely on 20-40% yearly profits. No more. All what is more - is very risky and not stable (yes you see 1 my EA have 70% in 9 month... but this is only 1 EA of the bundle. Some EA win some lose and all compensate. I mean 20-40% for all bundle here.. but that's another story... people do not diversify and bet on 1 strategy only) If have lets say 1000 usd capital... you cant live with 300 usd profits yearly... right?

Therefore for people with small capital, the only option is trading as signal providers. And earn % from investors' money. And it is not easy to achieve... you need solid proof - some 2-3 years trading history with stable results.
