Here is a major update that is compatible with both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. MT4 and MT5 versions with source are included.

Thank you for this indicator, can you please add Horizontal line that will show the price when market open, this usually helpful, the Arrow in the image is the Horizontal line needed. thank you, if the Horizontal line can be attached to the session vertical line. mt5 please.

hey mate, thanks for the constantly updated indicator. in overall it is very well thought-out and designed with lots of details.

may I suggest two settings?

  1. instead of or in addition to "max bars to use" setting, can you add "lookback days" setting which will set number of prior (including current) days the sessions will appear?
  2. and in order not to clutter charts with lines, would it be possible to add one more option to make vertical lines truncated like visible in the top and bottom edges of the chart and invisible in the middle and when lines are clicked on, the middle part is shown. (as shown in the attachment)

I've just found another version of the Sessions indy. In the screenshot, I've set the Asian session color to Green, European to Red, American to DodgerBlue. Setting parameter Background = false causes it to draw UNFILLED boxes. Make sure that you check MT4 menu option 'Charts.... ForegroundChart....' to ON, so that the boxes are drawn 'behind' the price candles. If you press F8, and check 'Show object descriptions' to ON (in the Common tab), the pip range (session high to low) shows just above each box. {file} {image}

I downloaded the autosession from idiamond from the above posts, but not working for me since i'm using mac and i can't manually put the cpp file.

Is there a way to have the session boxes automatically adjust to summer/winter time?

For example the the London market session starts at 11:00 according to my broker/chart time and this is where it starts plotting the box. However before last Sunday October 31 to let's say Friday 29 instead where summer time was still active it keeps plotting it for 11:00 instead of adjusting it to 10:00.

Is it possible that this version is not respecting the correct high/low prices for the time period? If using a period of 15 Minutes like start time = 11:00, end time = 11:15 it's not drawing the box for the correct area from the M15 candle high to low (15 Minutes) instead it keeps drawing it around the next candle.

I marked by a red horizontal line where it actually should have stopped drawing the green filled box.

There is a 2-week overlap when Europe and USA change the clocks; I find it best just to live with until those weeks pass by.

Not worth the hassle to change twice and end up where you started.

That's all I got.
It takes a lot for me to IGNORE you, but you can try.
