That's something I've been wondering about from reading the past few pages about the OR.

It makes sense using M30 on Nasdaq / SP500, because the US market is only open for 7.5 hours and using H1 chart would also include 30 minutes before the market opens.. But Forex seems like you would want to use H1 you have more sessions and with most sessions lasting 8 hours.

I and Malcolm and a couple of others use that always. first 30min of the session. on UK session i use that for gbp, dax, eur (if that is that one time a month i decide to trade it), gold and also for US indices as lately they move a lot in UK as well.
i also mark the opening bar, as around that area we often can find very good trades.

GU was in upper half of HVZ of friday. while looking at M30 in my opinion there were multiple signs of strength in line with immediate background. but i was also taking the fact into account that i have entered before even pre-london session so preferred to actively manage while considering to go with probability. failed test followed by supply in pre-london session was good enough to ring bell for me that odds are not in favor this time so minimized the risk instead of hoping that it would not go against me.

vsa is not an "indicator" its the relationship between the bar / candle and volume.

on here in the thread files there is both master the markets and trading in the shadow of the smart money. download then and read both . ignore the sales talk of tradeguider.

once you understand the relationship between the bar and the volume of that bar then you can even trade off a phone as i often do .

oftne forex is driven by news and markets.... that is why i use OR of stock market open .

Also mark news bars ... even the fed one from friday for gbpusd .... they are also critical

What you mean makes sense mate. But wouldnt waiting an extra 30 mins decrease the chances of finding a trade, either that or you may be entering further into the sessions expansion move?

I still reading the documents you recommended, first read is Toms Williams very hard to follow, glimming through some charts of vsa, I see M15 Bar HC, H4 Bar LC what are they meaning? Do we have key words list or references for vsa terminologies? could you pls give to me

Here on this thread I see you use lower TF than M15, even M2, M5,M10 it can not be MT4/MT5? there was a vsa suite not sure exxpired or not, would an analyse on MT4 be in-accurate. Do you have experience using it?

You use so low TF So those M15 HC or LC are for you of no importance?

Tom williams book is very dry. But great materials. Try reading Gavins book ... its a better read.

smart money are on every time... even 1 min . However when you see sos or sow on higher time frames the moves are bigger. So you can get contradicting set ups.. 4 hour sos and 15 min sow. Choose the time frame you are comfortable with. I like 30 min.

I typically trade a 30 min chart , monitoring for set ups during the day every 30 min , and when I see something tasty I move down to a 10 for entry

I have the smartcentre pro .. just leave it running in background . When it get trend alignment 5 time frames I am on charts also. currently a ton of grey so markets churning. gold is in ta but a sos two bar reversal behind us in london session and wrong time of day to trade gold. Right time is 1 hour from now

I read you are one of the rrichest and best living vsa trader world wide, and You do use here so low TF So those M15 bar HC or H1 bar LC are for you of no importance? are they from different teaching of vsa?

ah why only high low and close

thats easy

we are only interested in the high low and close. If the close is in the top of the bar and long tail and uhv then its sos aka test specially if in a rising market.

The open is of no significance .... so in the old tg we could delete the open so we have less noise on the charts.

It mau take you some time to get used to bars... but oddly now I cannnot trade a candle chart lol

lol i am not the richest vsa trader or the best . There are richer and better than me, I do ok and know my stuff in vsa

GOLD also today has broken out of H4, retest H4 and sttill stay over has a D1 gap left over. has run strongly up this morning, made LL, LH, LL, new structure high / lows (NSH, NS) so IMO if sell you need to be careful GOLD would not hit 1821 then go down

unfinished job with gap you see also in H1

i do not trade gaps .... as futures are 24 hours. I just trade charts in front of me . But agree its not sells only becuase 30 min trend is still up.

i do not like sells and i do not like the buys due to the massive sow behind us last friday ...

will wait for this range to break either way to trade gold again
