Forex will exist until one world government is formed and we use only one currency, but this probably will never happen. Currency market is a very powerful tool for developed economies.

I don't think that it is going to happen. Central bank digital currencies will be used with mobile phones and banks will sure want to benefit from it. Don't forget that the big banks rule the politic world when it comes to regulation.

If, that is not enough, trading goods like (coffee, or corn) is enough to convince me to stay in this profession.

Also cash will be available, for the poorer, so it is going to be interesting.

I don't believe that one world currency will be a solution for all. There are big differencies and problems between Countries that will never and can't be solved. Example: Covid-19 closed many borders and US returned to protectionism. Also Brexit happened!

It might not last forever but I don't think it's going to go out in the next 5 - 10 years.
In 2021, 6.6 trillion on average was traded per day. This doesn't mean every transaction was someone trading it. When someone purchases some good and it comes from a different country or currencies a forex transaction occurs. It's very difficult to replace all of these task with any other substitute. Even if Cryptos dominate in near future, we can still trade them. The point I am trying to make is it doesn't matter if forex stays or not we can still use the same principles for another market.

It seems to me that the economy will eat itself up in the next 30 years.
Forex will disappear along with this.

even with the introduction of CBDCs , forex will never disappear. why? simply be cause its value is the backbone of e financial system.

As long as there are humans, there will always be something to trade. You can always trade an index, commodities, Crypto or a form of Crypto, stocks.

It's a real unknown. Trading Forex or spot trading has only really been available to retail traders in any large way for about 20 years, before that it was quite exclusive because real-time charts were expensive. Now before that, it was currency futures which were used really for hedging by banks. Today, Central Banks use spot for manipulation, and it's us retailers that create liquidity for those banks, so I do believe retail trading spot will be around for a few years yet.......

Spot on, commodity trading and index trading, not to mention stock trading, will be around even if forex spot disappears, everthing evoles. In the UK we also have CFDs, which have really opened up commodity trading to all, I know that the exchanges have lobbied against CFDs in the US but stuff always evolves

I don't think forex will ever extinct actually. You know that investing and trading nowadays just gain momentum, because there are simple tools for running successful trrading campaigns. I believe that forex is forever, until something bad will happen with world economic and it will stop to be profitable activity. In my opinion, forex will be more and more popular, because more and more people are sure that it's the easiest way to earn money. The gap between poor and rich broadens, as more countries prefer capitalistic form of management, thus there will be more people who want to become rich.

Until we have one currency for the whole world, and this can only be possible through crypto which is not in the good books of monetary institutions. So, let’s stop imagining and continue trading forex.

Forex will always be there. More so now with more people taking interest in forex trading.

I think forex will exist until the world and the economy exist, it will be the last market to perish.

It is possible that the next 20 years will be completely unpredictable.

As long as people are not making money from Forex, it would continue to exist
