UC Short

The NFP bar from Friday, 2 bars later it was followed by a wide spread down bar which shows the NFP bar was filled with sellers.

I was watching today for price to tag the HVC from NFP but after the high volume up bar and that no one wanted to buy the test I started shorting.

I didn't see this till after I started shorting, but there is an UT right into the low of the NFP bar, the test was into the highs of the UT and no one wanted to buy the UT.

Bleh, price is finding support off 2470, closed 1/4 of the trade at 2477.

This is on a smaller account and FIFO rules in US have to close out the first trade taken on trades that are the same size.. So had to thin out some of the trades taken higher.. Larger account I would have closed the trades taken at the bottom first.

i think that massive down bar on the left could be selling climax. i would personally trade edges on that. but you are master on your own

I get what your saying mate, and do believe your analysis serves you well. There's multiple ways this could be looked at that could keep someone either in, or out of the trade.

Yes we were in a downtrend..... but from what I can see at the time of the trade, we were not. We went from a trending environment....to a ranging environment which is clear to see as I have labelled.

We dont know if its an Accumulation or simply a Re-Distribution. I simply used VZA to help define my bias in this case.

Yes it was a counter play to the higher TF trend and I realise that.... but is that really an issue? It wasnt like it was a "V" bounce entry.

There was another opportunity to enter down at the HB from a low volume shakeout, which did make it up to YHVZ. So the zone did hold...just my entry didnt

I just want to add, that my ideas are taken from Pres's VZA and you can see several examples of his trades being played zone to zone, quite similair to the trade I took.

Im not saying your wrong mate, I can admit you clearly know more than me..... But I dont think theres enough evidence to say that I was wrong either? Although it does make for an interesting debate that we can all learn from.

Even if it is a selling climax, we aren't going to get a rally off it. Price is going to range for a few days, and it will want to revisit the lows.

Looks like we are falling again, easy TP at 2745. Feel kinda dumb reducing my position but thought maybe the bulls stepped back in on the UT lows.
My big account, easy bet EJ will close up today.

Paul, im not saying that you are wrong and I'm right. I'm just giving my opinion of how I see the market. and you know how it is with opinions - its like assholes, everybody has one
there are many, many, many ways how to trade and each of us needs to find the style and method that fits our personality so the end result is good.

p.s.
hedge fund managers will say that it's better that you stick with your trading plan and the trade is a loss than a trade taken outside of the trading plan and a winner. because of a large enough sample size, you have an edge and deviating from a trading plan is considered to take that away.

also you can be right about the direction but wrong about the trade.

I took this trade on HVC test.

I set break evens when I saw next SOS on HVC line, I marked this bar - SO. One trade I just closed, because it is consolidation as we can see, and this is the reason.
Consolidation and next SOS on HVC line. Rest I want to hold ,so i set break evens as i said, and market took them. So 1 trade + 30p, rest BE.

I marked potential setup to entry, for shorting. Because I will not short anymore in this consolidation. It looks like an accumulation.

There was downtrend.
1) Attempt to reverse (broke previous swing).
2) Attempt to continue.
3) Attempt to continue failed.
4) But again it made a new low, will it continue down? It reversed and went above point 1.
5) Again at point 1.

Between 1 & 4, market was in confusion.
Yesterday, it continued.
Today, it also came at point 1. But I was looking for long because of Range.
