Hello everyone,
Very interesting to follow ...
Thanks to Erebus for the EMA crossover indicator which I took the liberty of correcting so that the arrow only appears if the crossover is still in effect at the close of the candle.
On the initial version I had some false signals which have been corrected on this one.

Thanks for that, I only just found that indicator and I did notice the arrows didn't seem to be right on some of the pairs.

I am testing new entry and exit criteria for PIPSACUMULATOR.

I have received very constructive suggestions in the last few days both PM and on this forum and I want to test some of those ideas here.

I need to find what really works. And ditch elegant theories.

I have a block of about twenty new setups based on my new entry and exit criteria.

The results from this block of setups will give me a path to follow.

So don't trade these setups. Just watch and wait.

Hi bpola,
Looks like a good trading method. It gives you a definite direction to trade [which is about 90% of any trading method] and a simple entry. What bothers me about it is many of your trades are correlated.

Risking only 1% sounds safe but, let's say the US dollar is strong and going up. Over a period of say 1 - 3 days we get entry signals to buy on USD/JPY and USD/CAD and sell signals on AUD/USD, EUR/USD AND GBP/USD. It looks like we have 5 individual trades risking 1 % each but do we really? The fact is, we are really just trading the USD which means we really have 1 USD trade where we are risking 5%. If the USD continues to rise then we are very happy but if it turns and goes down, we lose 5%.

Correlation can be wonderful but often it is not! If one currency [say USD] is running, it may be better to just choose one pair @ 2% or 2 pairs @ 1 % each risk???

I am testing new entry criteria to filter the large number of Signals generated. I realise I should be taking only the AAA trades to control the risk on account.
Less should be better and more profitable.
But the foundational concepts will remain:

1 STRICTLY TREND FOLLOWING - NO TRADING REVERSALS/RETRACEMENTS.
2. WE WAIT FOR PRICE TO PULLBACK THEN ENGAGE THE TREND WHEN THE TREND RESUMES.

I may have to reduce my profit targets and/or drop to 4hr charts to time the entry levels.

Am testing these ideas and hopefully the results will speak for itself.

In the end it's only profits that matter.

From page 1 I believed your system was pretty solid and profitable. But as far as I understand you want to re invent it after the huge retracements on FOMC day. Why not sticking to your system from page 1 and skip trading that 1 day each month?

Also, you want strictly a trend following system. How do you determine a trend?

To balance the different currencies against each other, why not stick with a selection like this:
EURUSD, GBPUSD, EURGBP, EURAUD, GBPJPY, AUDJPY, USDCAD, CADJPY, AUDCAD ?
Each currency is found there 3 times.
An idea like that ...

Thanks guys. It's been a wild week. But I learned a lot. As they say experience is the best teacher.

I am impressed that after 8 years operating with this system in just 4 days it had a reduction of 5% and you have to make adjustments, when I read the first post we thought it was a solid system. Just by looking back if you trade inverted you will be a winner, as posted above.

Istill believe PIPSACUMULATOR is a robust system but since the almost 4% single day drawdown on FOMC day, I decided to step back to reaccess my entry criteria and some other parameters of the system.

One of the objectives of PIPSACUMULATOR Methodology is low drawdown, profitable trading.

Most of the drawdown in the trade explorer is a result of testing new ideas yesterday Friday to optimize my entry criteria. I closed those positions after the tests.

The new live positions are another round of test using a certain filter. I will update the system on positive results.

I Iope to optimize PIPSACUMULATOR to

1. Filter the signals to identify only AAA trades. - I sense that too many correlated positions were entered at the same time. This cased the 4% single day drawdown.

2. Find a better entry than having to wait for higher high or lower low to generate the entry parameters.

3. Reduce R:R from 3:1 to 2:1
We have a higher probability of hitting target.

I am already testing these new ideas and would update the Methodology.soon.

The trend qualifier is still the same as stated in the methodology.:

If 5ema > 10ema, bullish
If 5ema < 10ema , bearish.

This is the trend qualifier.

Thanks for the indicator. I have a big problem getting email to work correctly. Wonder if you can put the push notifications function on the mobile phone.

Excuse my mistake, I don't know where I read the 8-year, but if it amazes me that it took you 10 years to discover that you have to operate in favor of the trend, in 10 years you still need an ema crossover to know the direction of the trend ? Do you still think you have built a robust system? -19.5% reduction in one week. Would someone really operate with this with real money?What else do you need to realize that it has no input logic and that this does not work, if you toss a coin you will have more luck. I think that if you go down to a lower time and look for a consolidation break in the direction of the trend it would work but the complete logic of the strategy would change
