What is main purpose of trading forex?

I have joined forex last month and I only came to this field because of money and my purpise is nmaking good money in trading. But I am wondering to know what is the main purpose of you to become a trader?

Ofcourse people are in it for the money. If really plan to make a living of this be sure to invest a lot of time. Personal time from time or your your career. This is very time consuming like any other industry in reality. But don't except to make some quick cash.

I believe that many people work in Forex to earn money and for independence.

I started forex trading to change my lifestyle. I was fed up working for someone else to become rich, getting stuck in traffic and the normal office bull****. Trading forex and crypto gives me the flexibility to work anywhere in the world. I have been able to sustain a consistent income and live away from the conventional 9 to 5.

Good answer! I also want the freedom to work from anywhere and decide my own hours. It doesn't seem so difficult because all the experts are saying that all you have to do is stick to the explicit rules of a winning trade system, and there are many out there to choose from. I guess I'll find out soon if that's true or not. First step will be backtesting 1000 trades, then do some demo trading, maybe 100 trades before going live.

Surely the main purpose of every investing and trading is making decent profits. However, you might ask that there are so many other ways to make money. So, trading is associated with a kind of freedom. There is noone who sets your goals but for yourself. Freedom is not suitable for everyone because freedom presupposes some dangers. It is good to be free to go where you should, but if you don't know where to go, freedom will kill you. That is all about my perception of forex. I know how to trade, so, I am free to open the deals that I want adn I take responsibility for my actions. That is the most important part of trading. Forex is full of whiners who lost their money and blame everything and everyone but for themselves. By doing so, you'll never achieve any results on your own. If you made the mistake, you've got to admit it, understand it and become better, otherwise, you'll not survive.
That is my impression of forex so far.

Yeah I agree, an individual is in it for the money and the freedom that it might bring.

One persons freedom might be another persons hell so I guess its not for everyone.

From a system point of view the purpose of traders is to provide liquidity to the market so it does serve a higher purpose.

But really its just about the money!!

There are a number of reasons why people join forex trading:
1. Money... obviously
2. To be cool... look, mates, I'm trading forex
3. Just bored and want to try something new

I'm pretty sure most of the people who entered in the financial industry for only one purpose, make enough money so that they no longer need to kiss anyone's ass.
Anything else comes after, freedom, power etc.

There are not that many good traders out there though. Most of the quit within 6 months time.
Just like anything else people do in this life, they are not consistant enough to see it though.
