Thanks PeterCaleb. Some here in FF are attention seekers rather than genuine contributors of valuable insight or ideas that can benefit a good number of FF members. All my threads are aimed to genuinely help fellow FF members and I put in a lot of effort to manage the ones that are still active. That has been my focus since day one when I joined FF. It doesn't matter whether others 'thumb-like' my posts or not.

A main reason why I respond to some of the erroneous posts is to help less experienced members and others who look for clarity rather than being misled by self-promoters or those who want to be seen as FF 'gurus.' It is more important to be your own guru or let your pocket (i.e. trading account) decide how well you are doing. And that is a private, personal matter; not a matter for public consumption on an anonymous platform unless you have a commercial interest to promote.

The litmus test for pompous and patronizing people like you is how fast you get wild and want to retaliate instead of ignoring the nit-pickers.

Using the top down analysis looking at an higher time frame(4H/1H) to determine if the price is approaching a strong S/R then going on a smaller time frame5min/15min) to determine your entry point in line with the bigger time frame.

One principle I adopt is this: Forex trading is not the same as Formula 1 car racing and, so, there's no point seeking to break ahead of the market.

I probably should add to this point he made back then was that if you look at the ATR of most popular pairs, you see that the ATR isnt 0 there's always some movement to make money. So the real pot of gold in his statement is if you can catch a bit of this movement on average everyday within a daily candle while mitigating loses then you should be on your way.

all i really care about is that, profit factor and maybe risk of ruin. that's it. i dont really care how it gets done, just that it does

Getting trading zones (entry and targets) from HTF (e.g. W1 or D1) but entering trades at technical reaction areas on LTF (e.g. H1 or M15).

It took me years to fully comprehend the importance of the fundamentals. Fundamentals can,will and do cancel any technicals you have going. It is very important to keep in mind that a surprise news announcement can cause a devastating blow to ones strategy short term but some can cause a major change in the trend. People out there who say one way is more superior to another are fighting a losing battle.
