Let us drive this thread again on the right track, so i am new to this forum and want to share that I trade on forex. I prefer to look 1 hr charts for a week to predict the trends. Please share yours according to your style of trading.

Seeing as you asked so nicely I'll humor you ......

The process of learning is necessary to genuinely see what is presented to you. This is not the "school taught" way to approach learning. It is where you use Life lessons etc to reflect on what can be done on a price chart.

Someone who wishes to learn must throw away their wants and desires and learn for the benefit of learning, itself, otherwise the way they see everything around them is detrimentally filtered from reality. If people do not anchor themself to something true and real then they will get lost in the sea of information. And so, instead of just choosing eg the scientific method, add to this the other categories that offer Life lessons to see how to learn..... religion, politics, mathematics, society, people, business etc etc. At this point the only thing that is important is forming best practice ways to think and process incoming and outgoing information. To assume that every situation has up to 360 different perspectives simultaneously present. And you need to accommodate for them all.

I didn't just make this up it has been known and understood for centuries and millennia.

So if people want to learn something it is necessary to seek forms and functions of what is to be learned, in other places, outside the expected topic and subject material. Again, I didn't make this up it has been known about how people competently learn for a very long time. Long before "Psychology/Psychiatry" came along.

If a person wants to learn they must try to find tactile/audible/numerical forms of similar and different forms of the same thing. So Jim, while you see a limit, I see an opportunity. Therefore, more of the same (as seen all over this site) is only going to 'fuel that fire' even more than before. This fire is evident all over the place now. This site, other sites, offline and online.

My suggestion would be this ...

- Throw away the childish attitude that people seem to always have when faced with something they do not know or understand or is unfamiliar
- Realize and come to accept that NO one category of topic or subject is an isolated attempt at learning..... related to trading or not. Your brain doesn't share in your "personal insecurities/biases/prejudices" so accept that fact as soon as possible.
- One of the evident reasons why people take so long to learn how to trade properly is not based on "10,000" hrs of screen time but HOW that time is facilitated. How it's approached. And so, too often, people squeeze information into a tight box and try and make it fit their perspective or point of view. This is an error and seems to repeat until the person changes the "reason" why they choose to learn.
- Opinions kill perspective building exercises. Opinions should only be present when beginning an investigation and at no other time.

Despite what people believe, it does not and in fact, never matters what form something comes in. If you limit your approach to just the obvious and literal, then your trading attempts will reflect this.

If people will do the work and cease with their impatience, then they CAN learn, free of restrictions and obligations and perceived "XYZ's".

Those that think this doesn't work or is "wrong/incorrect" have a rather large surprise coming.

There really is no difference between learning how to trade properly and legitimate personal development.

The subject of this thread is, brutal truths in day trading. It is a place where people can share and discuss their brutal truths and experiences in trading. In effect, this is a learning place, where your experiences and perspectives can be presented to a broad audience of people with their own experiences and perspectives. The basic idea of this is to help shape or reshape trading perspectives. I have enjoyed reading the posts by RickM, Viktory, TraderTim, KK100,and Simnz, to name just a few, which have prompted some new studies on my part, and helped initiate a few new white paper topics that I am working on. So I extend my thanks to them.

I've shared a few of my opinions and perspectives on trading here, along side those listed above, and answered questions and provided addition thoughts on topics that I have brought up. It was a minor annoyance to hear from Peter that my opinions and perspectives are invalided, my study and learning activities are not "real life" or are merely "school taught" or too academic. From a guy who advocated the learning ideas that he listed above, he seems to constantly violate his own approach with his unqualified opinions about my background and my approach to life and learning, and his unfounded beliefs about who I am and what I do. He filters information that is presented in this thread through his own childish attitudes and ego about other people. He is, himself, and impediment to his own learning, and by extension through his participation here, and impediment to everyone's leaning here. People here are seeking new forms and function to day trading, and trying to explore other peoples perspective in an effort to see more of those "360 different perspectives" he speaks of. Ridiculing, dismissing and criticizing for the sake of ridiculing, dismissing and criticizing, is destructive to the learning and sharing process, whatever the process.

IMHO, the sad, brutal truth here is that Peter has nothing to share about forex trading. If he did, we'd have heard it by now. He has nothing to contribute to a discussion on forex trading, or anything else related to forex trading. And he isn't a forex trader. But the worse sin of all is, that he is so f***ing boring. Let's please move on from this insipid learning crap.

To say all that shows you haven't lived much life. That is obvious. White papers are for people who cannot trade properly and belong in the classroom. This thread was to offer people the opportunity to confront the thread starter's input re: day trading and trading in other formats and considerations. Go read the initial post you fool. Well, he mostly writes about trading; while you're just complaining about him, criticizing and insulting, full of nothing more than subjective assumptions, without any factual basis or argument. So, what's your positive contribution/debate here?

Since someone turned me in and I got my first CC in 9 years, I thought I would be more diplomatic with Peter. He does not seem to be interested in any real concepts other than his personal real world, which, right now, he unwilling to share. While many may call it delusion, maybe there is something there that we little people cannot see. We must only wait and see where this apparent delusional behavior goes. FF has decided he is good for business, so he is not going anywhere.

Peter is on a long awaited drive to clean up FF of long-residing dwellers engaged in gossipping, spreading half cooked knowledge and choking FF of any real meaningful dialogue on improving trading, using it to set up own private channels, Gurus getting free space to promote themselves , attracting ego massagers either as fellow travellrs or piggyback riders hoping to become small gurus themselves, and preying upon the challengers and demoralising real traders and inadvertely forcing their exit.

It should depend on your style! If it doesn't suit you, then never ever think that it'll work for you. I tried scalping before and it just wasn't my cup of tea. Am mostly swing trading nowadays. But yeah, statistically, the more you trade, the more you're likely to lose. So scalping is the riskiest of them all while investing is the least risky.

To be fair, and to keep my post in context, I have criticized Peter for his rambling, disjointed and disconnected thinking and communications style, and his frequent use of non sequitur.

Here is how he responded, after I pulled out the comments that seemed most coherent:

I will say this veeery slowly so your cardboard cut out brain doesn't get too strained here -

You are just one of those people who was already tested/challenged but I did it without the sideshow alley parade you and RickM and others think is necessary to prove some kind of point and so, show people that even if I won the challenges I would still lose because I'm not dealing with people who have any real world consequences for interacting the way you do. And that's the very reason why people behave the way they do. And why I don't have to just accept whatever information you want to put forward. And neither do other people.

The last time I checked, I can call bullshit on anyone I see fit to look at in this world. You and your cronies included.

People generally ignore the basic overlap between real life and trading. And the status quo reigns over their thinking.

And so, the silly and colossal mistake by you and others like you is, I don't care who you are, who you think you are or who you think I am. Nope, not a whisker.

People like you who think the way you do are of no interest. No concern, don't matter. You're a chattel to your own circular thinking. And that's all. There is no wisdom in that...... not for ANY age group.

Only an imbecile would ignore the basics of how something works. And reading a thread is included there.

Everything that is presented by me is in the form of observations combined. There is a HUGE difference between that and being judgmental and feeling superior.

Day Trading Thought of the day......

I find people do not trust themselves enough and do not understand there are always 3 sides to any situation that you want to trade.

When you combine these together, you have people who still think they're back in primary or secondary school playing the same silly pathetic games .... only now, they've been 'released out into the wild' and now the world has to keep them alive and deal with them and put up with their "issues".... instead of being an adult and facing them head on.

The world doesn't need more "stupid". It's spilling over with that thank you very much.

So maybe it's time people throw out everything they think they know and try again.

Go on, try again.

Instead of assuming you're right, without any meritable deep investigation to back you up, try your hand at assuming your wrong. Assume that you have a very limited awareness and understanding of many things. Assume that your assumptions are foundationless. Assume just for a moment, that your lifetime of accumulating information and apparent knowledge, is in fact NOT the total sum of what is involved.

You see, IF you want to learn something properly, THAT is what you do.

Not listen to gaffers who have put themselves in a box.
