Is the factory still alive? Have you learned anything? Since signing up 13 years or so ago, one thing I learned is that you don't have to to be positioned in the market everyday to be successful. What about you, what's one thing you have learned?
It's me...
Learned about the misinformation that surrounds to the concepts like "Tight stoploss" "Play it like a casino" "Keep your R:R above 1".

I have learnt a few things:

 

  1. Always trade with a clean chart, indicators are useless and will damage your trading.
  2. Try to trade the way suits you, don't try to copycat others.
  3. If you can't trade the higher TF, you won't be able to do it on a 15m chart.

What I mean, not only in forexfactory, in the whole internet.
They teach us that we have to think like they want us to.

-Just get rid of the useless information they have gave you, and here comes the question of "What is useless?", to anwser it, go live trading with a very small account and try different approaches (hedge-trading, grid trading, even martingale, carry trading, spread betting, vanilla options..., go further and do a research by yourself)

-Research how a broker works, in forexfactory we have a lot of users, some have worked in Banking and know how they operate, just look for those users and read everything they say.

-Go make an EA, not to automate your strategy, creating an EA will teach you(if you are smart enough) how you have to think in order to be profitable.

Maybe for someone what I say makes no sense.

It makes perfect sense.

The problem with EA is they are only as good as a traders strategy. If the strategy starts to fail all it knows is to continue, that might be bad for your equity curve lol. I have worked with some amazing developers, and have found the best Ea are the ones that learn and adapt. Those are prone to fail over the long run also, even if they look good on back testing. But this conversation is probably better discussed in another thread.

I am also very interested in traders working in banks. do you know what topic they are on on forexfactory? Or what are they talking about? I want to consult and learn from these bank traders. thank you
