You can not use fixed period average to calculate "per sessions" data - that would mean that you are using data from previous session (like sma, and lwma, but implicitly the ema and smma too). You have to use averages that are adjusting the periods to minimum of available bars for session or period

If they are useful to you in mt4 they should be useful in mt5 too
On the other hand if they are not (useful to you in mt4) I doubt that you shall find them useful in mt5 either

A little addition to Mladen's reply
At first place it depends on the reliability of the code (who coded it)
It also depends on the features (property parameters) provided in the code - a simple and or basic version is far behind than an extended and well furnished/equipped version,as extended version are more flexible,compromising and capable handling different but all market situations
And finally it solely and entirely depends on users,how they use it and how much capable they are to adjust it according to their strategy
Any way MT5 is more advanced,flexible and capable regarding handing various approaches and extensively able to manicuring purposes - but experts knows better -

I do not have any intention to make that particular indicator for mt5
Reasons :

  1. that "mladen" version was not made by me
  2. I can only imagine what would be the "wonder" indicators faith in mt5 version too
  3. that indicator does what I have repeatedly (in vain) told people not to do : it is used for signals

You should probably ask the one that patched "mladen" to the name of that indicator (for reasons I have no idea of) to make it for you

Don't take this the wrong way; I am really interested:
If you don't use indicators to provide signals the only other function I can think of (except for volume etc) is to give you information about direction (or in other words: the structure of the market)
a) you told me you don't like to use price in trading (as you regard it as random noise)
[- if it were ONLY that and that all the time you couldn't code an indicator that provides information about - for example - direction etc]
b) you don't use indicators (does that also include trendlines?) to provide you with signals
c) So: how, when and why do you enter and exit a trade?
Or is this one of the "secrets of the trade"?
I hope not...
Feverishly awaiting your answer (which - hopefully - will be clear, practical, unevasive)

Please read Brian Millard's "Channels & Cycles: A Tribute to J. M. Hurst" book for an explanation how to use centered TMA

PS:

Please do not try to "hook up" to parts of sentences in an attempt to make a discussion of it when there is actually no issue to "discuss".

As you know for a long time : I do not talk "in general".

As I did not talk about anything else but that exact indicator in that message and in that sentence

I don't think - this being the year 2021 - I will take the time to read a 1999 book on trading (due to the fact that markets have changed quite a bit till then and me being old and having little time left - and all that...)
Of course, you took my question the wrong way (who would have guessed that) and I got what I deserved - I suppose - pomposity and arrogance and a tiny bit of sarcasm on top
What next, I wonder: will you "ignore" me because I dared to ask a sensible question?

The answer to the important part of you last post : Yes. But not for "asking sensible question" - frankly I find nothing "sensible" in your original question that started all this. But because you are obviously "on a mission" and you shall stop at nothing (including "posts" like the above post).

I'm a beginner and I really need this edition. I would be grateful if you could help me. I tried to edit this indicator, but I couldn't. I don't have editing skills. I just wanted to add the 4 days time. Only that.
