I would take lamboraul with a grain of salt. His popularity comes in ebs and flows and is based on the market conditions at the time. Obviously like most youtube traders, they don't show the periods where they blow accounts just the good times and try to milk the crap out of it for course fees. Lamboraul is no exception. I have seen first hand a few prop firms are paying youtubers to run propaganda for them, like that HVF nonsense.
Caution on any "public personalities" because of the nature of the internet. I'd rather see you folks in here show me a 10k withdrawal than a youtuber show 500k because it should always be taken with some skepticism.

I agree. The gains are outrageous, he probably loads up and over leverages when a trade is going well, which would definitely have caused him huge losses as well.
If FTMO is paying an already suspicious Instagram trader to show off 100k+ profits as some kind of marketing strategy, then they're not very wise.
But I sincerely doubt that's the case. I don't think FTMO needs to do that anymore, if they ever did.

But hey, no one really knows.

It's not just FIFO. The cost of trading with a US broker is a blatant rip-off. The spread on some of my favorite instruments are 6-7 in London/NY session!!!!
FTMO is 0.9-1.1. I cannot trade metals or stock indices in the US. Why? It is not to protect me, it is to hinder me. If you don't live and trade here, you really have no right even commenting on it. The regulators and the brokers work together to only allow the "big money" to operate. They do not want little guys making money.

He trades Gold. Look at the contract specs. If you know how to trade it (which isn’t that hard) it rains money from the sky with relatively small positions.

dude you live in usa, u can trade commodities and indices like futures, u can open an account with any broker like td ameritrade or webull or whatever, and u trade real contracts on the comex exchange not fairy tale CFD's, cfds are banned in usa because theyre bucket shops.

Quite an exceptional profit split if he decides to withdraw (haven't watched the video). I know someone who's reached just over £50k+ profit and FTMO will have no problem paying him out soon.

If FT limit to 100 sign ups a day, being fairly new to the business and all, how many challenges does FTMO receive daily? It's big money and frankly doesn't matter if a tiny percentage of traders rake in tens of thousands monthly. When they stop paying that's when it matters!

First off, forex is more profitable and has WAY more volume. Secondly, why would I want to have to learn something new and unfamiliar, when I've already gone through my learning curve in forex. Start over, essentially, because the regulators don't wish me to trade spot forex. You actually bring up a very good point, the regulations are there to get everyone back over to futures. It is one of the intended consequences of what they did here in the US with Dodd-Frank. In no way, shape or form, does it protect anyone, other than the brokers, banks and big boys, to keep the little guys little.

volume doesnt matter as i can imagine youre not trading billions of dollars every day, so your first concern is out of the window, and the futures market is the most liquid of all centralised markets, and forex is not more profitable, everything is profitable if you can trade, doesnt matter what you trade, you also have low margin while trading futures, and you can trade spot forex in usa, nobody is keeping u to not trade it, just not with bucket shops. nobody is keeping anyone down thats just in your head, if you want to make money that only helps you doesnt hinder you.

Because for the life of me I can't understand how a person could advise another person who has been trading FX for the better part of their trading journey to just stop and instead start trading Commodities and futures so they can trade "real contracts and not fairy tale CFDs".
Makes me wonder if some of us got into trading to actually make money or waste your time on useless technicalities.

Oanda is not a Bucket shop? FXCM is not a bucketshop?
Trading Forex with a leverage of 1:30/50 is not a limitation when you could have access to more buying power else where?

The ONLY way to trade spot forex in the USA is with a bucket shop. Unless you have 10 million to trade with Interactive Brokers. I trade cross pairs, there is literally no volume on these in the futures market. Yes, regulations do hinder me. Why do I need 10K in margin to trade 2 standard lots on the GBPUSD with a 30 pip stop? I'm risking $600, but hey put 10K with the broker. Why do I need to do that? Regulations. You are naive to believe that they are only there to keep the small trader down. You are correct, I do not let it hinder me, I just don't trade with US regulations. Simple.

Agreed. The barrier to enter the futures market is astronomical in comparison. I have an AMP futures account and am limited on contracts according to the amount of margin I can deposit. So I have close to 100K sitting with AMP for margin and have zero margin required to trade on FTMO.

Started a new 100K challenge today.

To make it interesting and to add as much pressure as possible I'm guaranteeing that I will secure another 100K account in 20 calendar days. That's right ladies and gentlemen. Challenge AND verification in 20 calendar days. Like Babe Ruth pointing to left field. I point, it happens.

How will I accomplish the "impossible" feat?

Easy. I will use a combination of revenge trading, over trading, and some good old fashion blue-collar button clicking.

Hello Traders,
it is the end of the week, which means another scheduled update. Since the last update, our thread has recorded over 440 new posts, all circulating around similar topics initiated by certain statements made by one of our competitors. As responding to each post as I usually do would be highly time-consuming, I’d like to take the opportunity here to go through certain points and clarify some unclear areas.

Probably the most discussed topic for the past week here was the way FTMO pays their traders and where is the profit generated from.
First, let’s point out the obvious: FTMO does not provide their traders with live accounts and direct access to the live market. We’ve always been very open about this and we’ve never stated otherwise or tried to put our traders under the false impression of providing real accounts. We are a serious company looking for serious traders, being 100% clear and using the correct terminology is absolutely essential. When it comes to the FTMO Account, you won’t find phrases such as “funded account, real account, live account” anywhere on our website. Although the wide public normally refers to a 'funded account', we have our terminology as advised by a lawyer and we say FTMO Account.
What we also state very clearly is that we do connect our FTMO Traders via a proprietary algorithm to the pool of liquidity providers, using the STP execution model to live markets where we generate cash flow. Challenge fees are also a part of our revenue, however, the frequent assumption that “all of the traders are paid from the Challenge fees of other traders” is completely deceptive. Some of you have asked for proof that FTMO Accounts are connected to live markets and suggested publishing how does the infrastructure exactly work. We consider this as our private proprietary solution that we do not wish to publicly share. I’m sure most of you have noticed the recent blooming of new proprietary trading firms in the industry. Our solution is the result of a significant amount of time and resources spent on research, development, and innovation. Naturally, we intend to keep the internal functioning private, especially in current circumstances.

We’ve also encountered confusions from some people when it comes to the leverage we provide to our traders.
According to European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), EU brokers are limited to providing retail traders with leverage from 30:1 to 2:1, varied according to the volatility of the underlying asset of the CFD.
Now, it is important to understand that FTMO does not act as a broker, does not accept any deposits, and does not provide anyone with direct access to the live market. FTMO is partnered with institutional liquidity providers directly without any brokerage companies involved in the process (thanks to which we’re able to provide our traders with truly raw spreads and low commissions). Since we only provide demo accounts with virtual funds, no leverage limitation applies to those accounts. If we changed our model to provide live accounts or introduced our own brokerage, we would be, of course, required to comply with the leverage limitation regulations.
Some of you were also asking why LMAX is no longer featured on our website. The answer to that is fairly simple: at the time, LMAX was the only liquidity provider we were partnered with. To come up with the best possible trading conditions and to accommodate the rising demand, we’ve switched to using an aggregated liquidity pool provided by multiple institutional liquidity providers.
Another issue I need to respond to is that FTMO did not pay their traders due to an issue on the side of FTMO.
Never would we ever dare not to pay a trader who legitimately reached the Profit Split. Our reputation and credibility are the key to our success and refusing to send the payout to anyone eligible for the Profit Split according to the contract would inevitably harm the good name of the company and the legacy we’re aspiring to leave here.

The last conspiracy I’d like to debunk is that our servers (FTMO-Demo, FTMO-Server, FTMO-Server2) and the whole FTMO Solution is somehow provided by a hidden, third-party broker.
Those of you who have been with us for a while certainly remember those times without the FTMO Solution when our traders had to choose a retail broker before starting a Challenge. We were quite frequently dealing with outages, common errors, liquidity issues, and general problems we had no control over at all. Each broker could’ve had different trading conditions, variety of instruments, trading hours, etc.
Naturally, we knew the situation was not ideal.
In August 2020, we have finally managed to introduce the FTMO Solution, which was the main long-term goal for 2020 after all. We’re simply connecting our traders through STP (straight-through processing) to the best possible liquidity, no broker in between. The full control over the trading platform allows us to effectively prevent and immediately solve any potential issues.
It took an incredible amount of effort and work to finally come up with our own FTMO Solution, however, I think those of you who can compare the current trading conditions to the previous ones would agree with me that those efforts have paid off.

I would also like to emphasize that we’re in the public forum which is not really a place for off-topic and rather personal messages. As I’ve been mentioning previously, reporting has never been intended and I would prefer to keep it that way.

Cant lie, FTMO initially looks easy but can get u out of ur game pretty fast.
i failed several attempts, however i hv full confidence in my trading. Another attempt here and its goibg relatively better than earlier tries. Trying to tweak my rules a bit to get through.. hope this step would b done in a week.. will keep posted

FYI, the first post can be edited, and on request i am sure so can be the title, here, or on FTMO's YT channel....
if you indeed say, correctly this time, that no actual direct funding ( aka funding) is provided. "FTMO does not provide their traders with live accounts and direct access to the live market."
small details, but for sure "funding" and thus funded (acct) didnt originate to traders, but you guys.

With all due respect, you are using the b-book broker PR statement in regards to your execution and liquidity.

"We are STPing users to our deep aggregated magic liquidity providers providing seamless execution and deep liquidity". Having worked for brokers for years and having used the exact same PR based statement, I know its BS.
In regards to your liquidity providers, not that it exactly matters, either put up who they are, or don't talk about them in a vague sense. Save yourself the trouble of having return questions on the matter.
Aggregators? Which ones? Integral? Primexm? Lmax? Currenex? Hotspotfxi? saxobank? dukas? .... the list goes on for prime of prime of prime aggregators (I know it can't be all of them because some of them conflict). What stops you from providing a metatrader live account and using one of their bridges to fill the orders in your margin account? How at risk from the regulator are you based on your model? Your business is set up as an education firm, which license do you hold to have a fintech operation executing trades with various aggregator pools? How can a user of your platform hedge your regulatory risk given ESMA will at best, frown at your business having a metatrader server? How did metaquotes give you a server (not a white label) without holding a european financial services license, based on your location (they ask for this)?

(Don't answer these, I don't care, am just proving a point).

"We collect traders data and execute it accordingly" is all you need to say. How its executed or what is executed doesn't matter after that. But your liquidity spin, anyone with half a brain won't buy it because its a regurgitated statement been used across the industry for years now, hell its almost identical to ironfx's statement and we all know how that ended.
So, either provide information and evidence of what your liquidity set up is and your trade copying policy, or change your strategy. From this thread alone you can tell that it won't affect your business if you simply say "we collect traders data and decide who to execute and who not to".
