You can clearly see my question if you go to the quoted post, I asked how does ftmo works around brokers? they say they offer liquidity providers, I wanted to know if I will still be trading with a broker. FTMO works directly with liquidity providers, excluding unnecessary laying - brokers

If you don't know how liquidity works, how brokers work, go research it. You literally do not have the knowledge of experience yet to be a profitable trader. Does it play into the specifics of any trading system? yes.. .it does.. Would you be a butcher if you do not know which part of the pig to cut?

Literally protecting a newbie and getting railed on for being a "troll" under a "bridge". Who is FTMO's liquidity? No idea, can you choose the broker? Of course not, because FTMO has its own server and that is clear both on their trial and challenge accounts, there is no broker selection. So whilst you may be upset that you got called a newbie, you are both a newbie and you didn't even bother to go through their website to investigate before asking a question that makes you look like you are about to lose your challenge money.

Perhaps you should reflect on what you are doing, it wasn't a technical question you asked, it was a question that wasn't even relevant because you cant select your broker at FTMO.

I posted this same question in the "The5ers" thread and thought about asking you the same.

Would FTMO be open to funding traders who are able to produce a good trading history (on real money of course) but unwilling to accept your evaluation test?

Hello Saxio, I’ve discussed a similar topic last week with Jmoreno. I believe the occasional sharing of our monthly statistics on our social media is quite informative and transparent already. By publishing other background details, we would freely provide even more information to our competition, which is something we need to be especially careful about.
Now regarding evaluating traders by their trading history - with the current amount of our traders, taking time to properly look into the history of each account and carefully choosing whether we want to fund the trader or not would be impossible. And mainly, we could never be 100% sure that we’d be looking at the trade history of the same person who sent it - that is why we want to test every trader rather “in house”. We are already dealing with enough falsified „evidence“ and untrue claims and have a system that works, so for now we are not planning a change in this direction.

Scalping big lots pays off.. at least today on GBPUSD. No issues with the platform. It’s just the free demo tho... I wonder if that would be possible in real trading and a real account with FTMO?? Any ideas?

Scalping is allowed but supposedly they copy your trades on a live account, and if you use ultra fast scalping techniques, they might not be able to copy you. In which case, they can ask you to take the challenge again for free with a different trading style. That's my understanding anyway.

I used a scalping EA on their demo account and generated massive profit within a few days. However, when I tried the same EA on their challenge, it lost more than it won. Not sure why that was, and never got an answer from FTMO. There should not have been any difference in performance, as both the free trial, and the challenge, are taken on demo accounts. There were no other changes from my side and my connection to their server was less than 30 ms consistently. The only thing I can think of is that they artificially increase slippage etc during the actual challenge, to make it appear more realistic. Might try the same EA again using a VPS with a ping time of less than 5 ms to their server.

Thanks! Nothing special in my case I think, just a normal position with 7-8 lots, holding it for 3-5 min, trading twice or three times per hour max. 35K account. Some would call it pure gambling but today’s GBPUSD allows it so far.
Did you place your stop loss order? Why not?!? Story of my life...

I believe that should be fine. Long enough for them to copy your trades.

Just had a look back on the account Metrix and they lasted for between 10 seconds and 1 minute, with most of them closing within 20 seconds from the looks of it.

I wonder if FTMO would kindly specify if they are expecting a trade to be kept open for a certain duration.

I must say it is really hard to pass this challenge if not impossible without taking higher risk especially when you are trading mainly EURUSD like I do. I am considering trading gold because I do not want to repeat this challenge again.
