Morning all ...

I wouldn't normally bother to trade much this xmas week but with Brexit talks so close i have been ....in Forex Markets you march to the currencies Drumbeat and not vice versa .......

looks like things are pretty much sorted and this morning red GBP has done very nicely ....I started very early this morning and will continue to trade today for a while

its peaking at moment .....once we see press releases the fun will start again .....the devil will be in the detail

xmas can wait ...trading comes first !

been another 30 pips higher on Cable since last post.....not bad ....i'll stick in there for us opens etc ....work day for me

CAD and AUD are the buys so far .....USD is 3rd in list .....sure a little bull ....

i've been selling GBP mainly in 2021 so far ....Euros coming down as well nicely

let Yen show me some more bull action and i might get more interested in attacking USD north ......until then its just a nice secondary currency
to buy in my main pairtrades .....

wicked start to week as yen , CHF and USD all went Bull .....sucking in Trader positions for the Week

All change into Tuesday as they dropped and sold off rest of week so far
GBP reversed north into Wednesday.... generating some great intra day sessions
Euro was a very nice bull play Tuesday as well and had held from monday demonstrating real stoicism

I tell students never to open up weekly positions until all 3 sessions have played out on a monday ....you may get suckered by the markets .......as in this week

The Forex markets are providing ample opportunities as usual

Year to date Action 2021

red GBP after hitting early lows in january has cruised into first place as alpha Bull ...some 350 pip minimum swings on most pairs.....impressive if you called it ...I chased it up and down so far with some success along the way

blue Euro and now yellow Yen are the Bear plays to date .....both down to 150 pips so far on raw index

So big respect if you bought GBP into either of these guys in last 4 weeks .....

I did at times ...not because im smart ...but that my FXCorrelator based systems told me to ....its just relative strength at play in the Forex market ......its not rocket science (and i have been doing it for over 20 years now)

February so far .....

red GBP swung bear to bull so far generating nice swing profits (sound familiar to full year so far?)
Orange AUD a solid buy
Yellow Yen / Green USD / Blue Euro / Grey CHF all net Bear plays now ......

Some great plays so far in February - if you know what you are doing

Bitcoin , Gamestop and other trading dramas come and go ....but the solid and controlled nature of the G8 forex market makes it a solid performer year in year out .....thats why i trade it

ok another great week for red GBP ...140 pips bull area
Selling Grey CHF and Yellow JPY ......to -140s on Yen

Bulk moves came later in week which is unusual .....but better than never

Trading is not hard .....but you have to find an edge
I have used relative strength in forex for over 20 years now

ok heres the year so far on my Fix Start FXCorrelator ...

BULLS
Red GBP is storming the year so far with some 500 pips net gain (most in Feb)
AUD, CAD and NZD fighting for the Bull Scraps ....

BEARS
yellow YEN and grey CHF both pushing -380 pip falls from Zero line
(most of those both coming in Feb)

best Pairs in 2021 so far are GBPJPY & GBPCHF both hitting around 6.6% gains from early Jan

I have been trading with relative strength indicators and strategies since about 2001 (posting here since 2008/9) and still find them just as profitable today as the day i first started....

sure .....some tweaks along the way to reflect changing market dynamics .....but the core foundations are the same.....

hey gang - crazy week .....a lot of action from all currencies off a low trending week !

BEARS

The biggest seller was Red GBP hitting weekly low around early wednesday europe, then rallied before coming came back again for a second bull bite on Friday .....classic GBP action !

Blue Euro ,Yellow Yen and Green USD also hit some Bears later in week

BULLS

Early Grey CHF action was followed by decent brown CAD by Wednesday and a few others followed ...a real scrum in fact later in week ...real messy to get decent trades away ....

for me that solid Red GBP early week was THE trade .....lots of currencies to buy into it (GBPCHF sell was best play on chart).....that USD & JPY Selloff thursday was hard to hit ......and then they bounced north very nicely on thursday

CADS aggressive selloff on late thursday was nice into the rising YEN & USD .....bit you had to be looking for a counter trde on week to nail them ....full marks if you did ...

this week was about counter trading some ranges ......but for me nothing really was over extending anyway to prompt such aggressive moves or plays .....so i was happy punting the GBP sells monday....

BEARS

The biggest sellers were Turquoise NZD in Week 1 and then yellow JPY week 2 (below zero lines)
nothing too crazy though with max levels of around 100 pips .....pretty lightweight

BULLS

he biggest Bulls were yellow JPY week in Week 1 (closely chased by green USD) .....and then it looks like GBP got biggest in week 2 ...... (above zero lines)......as ive extended week 1 into week 2 it makes things harder to see what happened week 2 (best to have a seperate new start chart )

overall then red GBP has been the best 2 week bull performer and Yellow JPY has closed out Bear winner

look at the swing play on yellow yen ......thats a high recorded in week 1 and then a massive selloff to the lows on friday ......well done to anyone who shorted JPY ........ive added a second chart to show the actual period of the selloff and the pairs that did the best ...GBPJPY was a superb buy .....
