Is being consistently profitable a requisite to qualify one to teach people about trading?

hey alastor...... no..... however, people might take the teacher more seriously with verifiable results.....

as far as learning, the best teachers might be the consistent losers..... just not doing what they do is lessons enough....h
to trade and code, keep both simple... no call to impress....h

Dear AlastorFate and Hayseed,

Even though proof of profitability is not needed to teach, I do agree with hayseed mentioning that people will take them more seriously.

No, you don't need to be consistently profitable to teach trading and many do end up teaching. I believe in the reason for teaching begin very important, as even an experienced unprofitable trader can teach the techniques to be consistently profitable, even if they do not follow them with strict discipline themselves. Then it will be up to their student to learn, apply and strictly follow without deviation.

It also depends who you are teaching, if it is commercially I am not sure on the rules. I would imagine all hell would break loose when the students find out that their teacher was a consistently unprofitable trader.

Some links for you to check out as there is a little more to this topic like what the intentions of the teacher is.. If it is to teach to avoid mistakes the teacher made and they are overall unprofitable then that is good, while trying to sell indicators and other junk....not so good in my opinion.

Different thing, teaching and trading are. Anyone can teach, they are all around us. Like a sport, trading is, in the moment decision making, emotional control, discipline, are what make a trader succeed.

Anyone can swim though, are you trying to become an olympic athlete or a sunday swimmer?
Learn, a forex trader must, unlearn and relearn he will.

There are a lot of qutations and clever expressions. BUT.
Remember a lot of examples in sports where some coaches of the best chempions do not have a great experience on competitions. They train champions having a good analytical thinking.

If you are profitable from trading why you need to teach people? This is fake. If you earn more from teaching then you are not a good trader.
