Member pipmaster77 and I had a discussion regarding trading under the system of The 5ers vs. trading own money.
He wants to participate in The 5ers program by depositing $875 and get rich very quickly. He has challenged me to match his investment in kind except that instead of participating in The 5ers program, I trade the $875 in my own personal account.
He will be bound by the terms and conditions of The 5ers and I will have no conditions. I can choose any leverage, trade size or TP/SL that I desire because that kind of freedom comes with trading independently. No limits on DD on a daily basis or at any time for me either. I set the rules or break them at will.
There is no bets involved in this competition and there is no reward either. It's just going to be an "I TOLD YOU SO" competition. He thinks there is an advantage in getting funded by The 5ers and I think I can trade that money on my own without the need for being funded.
I don't fully understand The 5ers program. Apparently he can withdraw his profits monthly and also double his funds every time he gains a 10% profit increase. I suppose the sum of his withdrawals will be what he will have to show for his account gains and that is that. Apparently, he will have no ability to withdraw anything else from the account other than his monthly gains.
I, on the other hand plan to just keep my profits (if any) and reinvest them within the account.
We have set a timeline of 14-15 months or so. He sees himself reaching a 1.28 million funded account within that time and is hoping to withdraw 2-4K per month shortly and maybe more and more as his account gets bigger. He sees my account grow within that time frame to about $1350 or something like that hence his claim of superiority in trading within a funded environment.
I am really not as confident about that sort of sharp increase in my account as his, but I have hopes for a steady humble upward curve.
I have no idea how he is going to display his trading results but I am not really into setting up a TE or MFB with trade analysis and screenshots and constant updates etc. I am fine with an MFB account that he only can check to make sure I am telling the truth and I expect the same but he can do whatever he wants with his reporting of his progress.
It could be a boring thread here on my behalf but, pipmaster77 is full of energy and enthusiasm and is really pumped up about getting just about every funder under his command and exploit their generosity of doling funds to him. Me says: Meh!
So, I am waiting for pipmaster77 to get back to me on a start date now. I prefer a beginning of the month start but if pipmaster77 is a go ASAP, then be it.
