Latest trade on Cable - another success story - posted to GBPUSD only thread - live call


Starting with the 30 minute the larger degree swing when looking at the 4H was corrective , the 4H larger degree swing is part of the daily larger degree swing and was moving in the same direction so waited on the 30 minute for a new impulse wave to begin back in the direction of the daily larger and minor degree swings.

Why i did not long cable today


So cable pushed up for another high today but i did not trade it , the 30 minute was showing an abc single wave correction which was part of the 4H minor swing and the 4H swing was part of the daily minor swing.

When the 30 min makes a single wave abc that usually implies a single wave impulse is to follow in the overall market direction in this case long and they can be profitable but are very short term in nature , sometimes that move up can be the B swing of a larger degree abc correction so i decided to stand aside.

What i am looking for is to trade the larger degree corrections on 30 minute which would of shown as a correction on the 4H and moving in the same direction as the daily swing, trading this type of correction allows me to run the trades a bit longer and make larger gains but as they say you have to be in to win it and with hindsight i should of taken a position to the long side as there was no real indication to short and i could of had a reasonable gain of 50 pips.

What i thought might happen - but read the price wrong

EURUSD - ABC larger degree correction


With reference to my last post the eurusd did make a 30 min larger degree abc and then an impulse back in the direction of the 4H swing which was part of the daily swing and the daily swing moving with the weekly so a very high confidence trade.

I plan to hold this trade for a while as if all goes well and it being a larger degree swing it should make some corrections and keep moving up.

Update

As mentioned in the previous post overnight eurusd made some corrections and further moves up but now it is time to exit this trade as the last higher low has been broken to the downside and it may be the start of a larger degree correction.

Looking at the eurjpy. the structure looks a bit tricky but could be a good trade


Starting with the 30 minute we have a new larger degree swing short
Moving to the 4H the 30 min swing becomes a minor and is moving down in line with the 4h larger degree swing
Moving to the daily our 4H larger degree swing now becomes a minor swing and it is moving against the weekly

So the 30 min swing could very well be C of abc daily correction

Update- it was a good trade , except it went long instead of short , as i said from the original analysis the structure looked a bit tricky but luckily the 30 minute larger degree wave did not trend down to give an entry signal but did exactly the opposite, with hindsight i can see where my analysis went wrong , the daily was in an upswing and i convinced myself that it was going to make a correction even though it was blindingly obvious that the daily minor swing was up. Even the trend indicator was showing long on 4H and daily.

Eurusd-LONG

30 min larger degree swing is corrective which becomes a minor swing within the 4H larger degree swing and the 4H larger degree swing become a minor swing on the daily which is moving with the daily larger degree swing.

Update - i have had to exit this trade as the structure is no longer valid with the 30 minute making a lower high swing and a lower low minor swing which reverses the larger degree swing.

Yesterday EURUSD - double correction

Sometimes this happens , our trading timeframe will make a double larger degree correction which is still part of the higher timeframe larger degree swing , unfortunately i know of no way to know when this will happen and its a case of losing the first long trade and entering again for the second .

Usually a double correction with no break of support from the trading timeframe is a good indication of a large impulse wave to follow

Possible long on GBPUSD

30 min larger degree abc correction part of 4H larger degree swing which is moving in the direction of the daily larger degree swing, first resistance from abc correction to break upwards to confirm.

Update 1- no signs of first resistance breaking , could be setting up for short if the minor trend reverses to the downside
Update 2 - First minor support broken to the downside but still needs to close below , the long trade idea is cancelled and we may be at the beginning of a larger degree down swing.

EURGBP possible Double correction

30 min larger degree abc double correction with larger degree resistance still intact, the correction is part of the 4H larger degree wave which is moving in the same direction as the daily larger degree wave.

Entry only if a new minor trend on 30 min reverses the minor trend in the last 30 min larger degree up swing

Update 1 - no signs of minor trend reversing to the downside
Update 2 - still no signs of a reversal minor trend continuing up so no short trade at the moment

Possible USDCHF long

30 min larger degree correction is part of the 4H larger degree swing and 4h larger degree swing part of daily larger degree swing.
Entry once minor trend resumes- first minor resistance broken to the upside

Update 1 - first resistance to the upside was broken but failed to close above, no long trade taken as of this moment

Some info regarding corrections


There are two types of corrections that i look for one is a single abc and the other a double

A single abc will be a single impulse in a continuation trade and a double ie abc abc abc will normally signify a full correction

Amazing short trade posted live in GBPUSD only thread

Just as i was complaining of no trade set ups giving entry signals along comes the larger degree AB C

Not the kind of trade i usually take as i am usually looking for continuation trades but the opportunity was too good to pass.

We had a single larger degree swing up refusing to break the first minor resistance , the swing made a double push up but still failed to break up , eventually the price came through the top of the second push up and at that point it was clear the larger degree swing was going down into C.

Profit already taken +120

UPdate 3 - Closed trade for +77 due to the fact target not reached before end of day and when trading abc corrections it is dangerous to keep trades open overnight because the main trend could resume whilst i am away from the screen

Update 1 - Holding long
Update 2- The aussie has move some way up but still some pips to go to target
Update 3 - Closed trade @ +69 as do not want to hold overnight due to the fact the main trend could resume whilst i am away from the screen.
