Does anyone know how to make the attached indicators work for MT4?

Several people have asked the developer if there is an MT4 version of the indicator, but they have not gotten a response.

Having an MT4 version of this indicator would be useful because not all people are able to trade with MT5 due to their broker not providing it as an option.

fxcoder rewrote all his indicators (coding now "parallel" for mt4 and mt5 with the same codebase) - the latest versions are always on gitlab now...

I went into the file and found VP indicator for MT4. Unfortunately, when I attempted to attach it to the chart, nothing happened.

Have you refreshed/restarted your MT4-Terminal (so the indicators get compiled)?
I attached the compiled VP indicator here for you (in ex4 format).

You choose when adding the indicator which mode you want (he combined VP-Range-... and VP-... indicator to one VP indicator)

I have a question. What is the period mode supposed to do? If I set it to period mode, no volume data shows up. Volume data appears to only show in range mode.

Update: I figured out what I was doing wrong. The volume shows in both modes.

newbie here, what's the main difference for mt4 and mt5? thanks guys!

  1. MT4 is supported by the broad majority of brokers, MT5 is supported only by a minority.
  2. For manul trading the differences are negligible.
  3. For automated or semi-automated trading the main difference is that MetaQuotes encrypted the price history, thus making it impossible for traders to use their own clean history for testing. As a result all backtests with MT5 are meaningless (despite the MT5 tester offering slightly more advanced features) leaving MT4 as the only serious option for automated trading.

I think they should have improved MT4 instead of creating MT5. It was a stupid move on their part. It's the classic 'If it works, don't fix it!'

MT5 will likely die off at some point, for the simple fact that most brokers don't support it.
Can someone help me play mt5 ea for mt4?
