hello, i am very happy with Segen 3.9.6 EA and mainly use it for XU_5Min and have already made good profits in my live account. I'm not a programmer and i don't understand so much about indicators. But i try a lot and look at the result, why i write here is maybe someone can test my BTCUSD.Set file over a longer period of time? my broker does NOT give me enough data in the 5 min chart to do this for a long time (only 21.12.20 - 08.01.21) my first results {image}{image} {file}

Testing H1 2020 I see next picture:
EU - ok
GU: ok, ok, ok, then boom ))
All trades +- with a little profit, then - series of 5-6 trades with great loss.
Is it a bug? it doesn't look like some market situation.

This is normal behavior. The goal of this thread is to find a way to use EA that avoids disasters.
Please excuse the bad English via Google Translate.

Typical behaviour of a grid trader with increasing lots. Probably you set your "close all" at 50% equity.

Solution: increase your start balance and/or decrease the lots respectively multiplier. Increase the grid.

Or, if you use the take the money and run strategy: set the close all to zero...

There is no bug.

You need to Cut Losses Short and Let Profits Run.

Many lessons you can learn from that experience.
One important lesson I learn in 10 years trading with Blessing3 is the use of FMC.
Using FMC as one of the control is very important when you recognize the change in the Weekly market conditions.

Too many levels against the Weekly market condition will cause huge drawdowns. Use Close Oldest setting and take small losses.

Maintain a healthy account balance/equity to fight another Week.

The other important lesson is to Average UP when you see favourable Weekly market conditions.

i have been live trading blessing for the past few months, h1 with moving averages and bb, i have to say that it has been steadily cashing, without much problems. I have to say i tend to close all the positive floating on friday afternoon, but really depends on market outlook.

I am still trying to figure out how blessing calculates the profit and trailing, if emmanuel could spare some light on that would be much appreciated

Hi all,
I have been following your efforts for well over a year now and wish to express my gratitude for the energy and enthusiastic way in which the leaders in this group guides this EA's development along. Thank you!
I gave the posts that are always asking why the EA entered against the trend some thought and was wondering if one can't program the CCI entry to rather measure trend by day, 4hr, and 1 hr instead of it's current m5 to H1 measuring? Will one not force the EA (even when trading in 5 min intervals) to only open trades in the direction of a larger prevailing trend?
Happy to hear the views of the experts on this one, thanks.

It depends on your settings, normal for newbie you don't use hard TP and SL option.

So if you set your grid size 4,4 ( 25,50,100 and 50,100,200) for the first block ( 4 trades ) the TP will be 50. It will create a line so that you can measure but of course the spread has to be on point so that B3 can takes profit

Tip: Measure B3 last trade with yellow line, you may understand something.

I have asked that question before, maybe you should check Mike9977 answer #Post2319

Of course you can change 4TF to suite your taste, if you know how to code lol.

Thank you CoolBuddy,
I do understand and I have seen Post 2319.
The reason why I raise this issue is because I cannot code and I do not want to mess with the EA's coding whilst it is in such capable hands already.
Therefore the question remains open: Can one adjust B3's coding to the extent that the CCI covers larger timeframes in order to accommodate trading with the larger prevailing market trends?
Thank you.

which "larger timeframes in order to accommodate trading with the larger prevailing market trends?" do you want to follow when you trade?

do you follow a 3 timeframes concept? which 3 timeframes?

for example below, I have a PLAN, BULD and RUN using 3 timeframes.

with the Weekly, I do not let my drawdown exceed maximum price action 2 weeks high/low.... I simply cut-loss.

also take note if you have the MaximizeProfit set to True and the percent ProfitSet. Defaul is set to 'false.

plus lots of other settings and combinations which can be quite complex in the calculations.
