Regardless of their business model and whatnot, as with everything (including trading), i believe the best time to get into the game or trend is EARLY.. early enough to make some quick money before the trend weakens and crashes or get in early and ride it till you milk it for all it has to offer before it crashes. That's all we should care about, making some money while it's still possible as we on this end don't know for sure how the company is run or how long the model will last.

Just get your challenge fee back then "move your SL to breakeven" and ride till the beautiful trend ends.

There is absolutely no way they would pay someone 10x a refunded deposit in a month if they were bucketing... Do the freakin math and stop the stupid claims. Even if its just 3% of traders who make a total of 5% of the 100k account they would already be bankrupt if it was only the fees. It doesn't require discussion beyond the numbers.

If I was going to start a prop firm one day, I would definitely hire Koop as a consultant or maybe even invite him in as a partner cause he knows everything about the prop businesses of all sorts and is just so positive about the 'industry' that he would make it thrive by expressing nothing but positivity about it. His positivity and enthusiasm is so contagious IMHO.

Ps: hi buddy.

Guys, I have a question. I have all my stuff with mt5, but ftmo allows only mt4 for free challenge. How you think is it will be ok if I'll run simple copier from my mt5 to their mt4 account? P.S. Still thinking about one logic problem... If someone can constantly earn 10% per month why the world there is a need of ftmo or other prop firm? It is extremely easy to get an investor who will be happy with 1% especially in Europe where the bank rates can be even negative... May be the purpose is only use it as a good way to improve trading skills because...

why don't you start a free trial and get it working there? if it works there, it'll work in the challenge, I'd wager... and all the other stages. Don't know for sure, though.

Once? So you pass the challenge, then pay to get funding and lose? Nice idea, men!

Because free challenge is only on mt4 platform, but I have mt5.

"Because free challenge is only on mt4 platform, but I have mt5."

Ah, the boy who equates @eelfranz's death with Hitler's... So -- you want a free challenge? Just another whiner...

And you boast of being an expert coder, yet can't figure out how to interoperate between MT5 and MT4? Well, okay, I'll take pity and give you a clue how it all works...

When you sign up with FTMO (or any prop firm, for that matter), you download an FTMO-branded version of MT4 along with login credentials. The FTMO-branded version of MT4 knows how to talk with FTMO's broker. In case it's not clear -- you must get your trade requests to FTMO's broker and not your personal FX broker or my personal FX broker in order for FTMO to be able to track your progress.

Now -- there is more than one way to get trade requests to FTMO's broker but the simplest is through their FTMO-branded version of MT4 because it comes pre-configured with network (socket) settings that allow the FTMO-branded version of MT4 to talk with their server. In case it is not clear, when I say "talk" I don't really mean to actually speak, rather, I mean the network packets sent from your local PC (using the FTMO-branded version of MT4)will get properly routed to FTMO's server. @ryuryu -- are you still with me, son?

Okay -- so you're using MT5. How is this going to work? Son -- you need to get the signals from your MT5 session to a session running the FTMO-branded version of MT4. The FTMO-branded version of MT4 needs to run software that will then convert those signals to trade requests and send them on to FTMO's broker. The FTMO broker doesn't care who / how / where the signals originated, but the trade requests need to come from the FTMO-branded version of MT4.

I suppose that next you are going to ask how to get signals from an MT5 session (or, for that matter, any Windows app) to the FTMO-branded version of MT4, and then on to the FTMO broker. The answer is: there are many ways. I will leave it as an exercise to the "expert coder" to choose a method best suitable to your skill level -- kind of like a homework assignment. At most, it should take less than a day for an "expert" coder...

I don't see it. However, I have seen huge gaps like that typically during off-quote periods and it is almost always caused by a huge spread -- like hundreds of points. Furthermore, it doesn't appear on a bar's High or Low -- so it's not like you can scroll back in time to see it. The price gap is there, but it doesn't appear on the bar data -- if that makes sense. Even though you can't see it, it will take out stops. On the other hand, if you have a trade open and the gap is in your favor you will not benefit. Hmmmm -- always seemed to me like the cards were stacked in the broker's favor...

How about a screen shot? I'm curious what it looks like on a chart.

I stand corrected, I’ll just fill in the gap with some crayons and pretend it’s not there.

Along the x-axis his chart skips from August 2020 to February 2021 -- are you referring to a 600 Pip difference in price over the past 6 months? Apologies -- the rookie misunderstood -- I thought you meant a momentary price gap just recently, which I have seen but usually caused by a huge spread.

Below is a screen shot of FTMO AUDUSD/H1 over the past few days -- no anomalies...
