@josherwood, what kind of confirmation will you look for before entering a trade at a level be it a zone or line? Or maybe sometimes, markets call for aggressive entries like at breakouts?

i look for the following


head and shoulders + inverse
symmetrical triangle
ascending triangle
descending triangle
double top/bottom so forth
rising wedge
falling wedge
pin bars
cup and handle
lower highs
higher lows
higher highs
lower highs
break and retest
support and resistance
supply and demand
trends

i kept losing
from my experience
you need to learn textbook candlestick movements and patterns around such levels/formations
Took a loss on gold, I was bearish overall since gold was trending downwards still on the higher timeframes. Maybe volume wasn't with me due to US bank holiday but I'm not sure what else I could do better next time..

Gold was trending downwards, yes.
Remember at the end of every trend, there is always correction.
Plan your positions beforehand.

You got greedy, you had the chance to quit at least 2 times with profit.

never trade when you can’t have full focus on the market

I've managed to come out of drawdown too with gold, it was a better day today

I was also trading GJ, closed the last trade a little early though. I can say that I was bullish with GJ on the lower timeframes but looking at the higher ones, it may be done with the retracement.

gonna give it a go tomorrow
finally got the settings right
