I'm looking for a trading simulator for indices and/or FX with some of these characteristics:

1) it will let me trade either fictional or historical prices.
2) it will let me trade at weekends
3) it will speed up simulated time so I can perhaps trade 1 day in 1 hour. This would allow practise to be multiplied, perhaps getting a week's worth in 1 day.
4) it will have reasonable charts included

Does anyone know of services like this?

Take a look at this see what you think one is free one you pay for.

Personally I use Trade Interceptor for free but that's me

I'm pretty sure you can do that in the MT4 strategy tester. If I remember correctly you just select a Trade manager EA which will allow you to place trades manually, instead of selecting an EA that trades for you as you would normally do there. 1st set up a template with the Trade manager and whatever else on it and apply it to the chart once you open it in the strategy tester. I think I have done it with VR Stealth Pro before which is a free trade manager that can be downloaded directly to your MT4 platform.

Failing that Trade Interceptor is OK too as Stevepatt said.

go try download TRADE INTERCEPTOR to your mobile/tablet device.
The app has TRADER GYM which you can use to practice trading.
This is not investment/trading advise. Will not hold accountable for loss

I bought this mt4 simulator from an add on this site. I never looked back. Best $10 I ever invested in myself. Good luck newbies. It's not easy but is possible!
Mm-hmm. It should be all right, I think.

I have used many indicators with this simulator EA and have had no issues. They all seem to work fine.
Mm-hmm. It should be all right, I think.

You have quite specific requests. And modern trading simulators are still more aimed at standard work in the market, and it is difficult to find such a combination.
But don't get upset, at least you can choose a couple of systems for this kind of work.
But I would like to clarify for what purposes you are going to use it.
Because ideally, if the trader already has some experience in the market, it is worth to combine it with real work with real money.
I've read a lot about how traders get hung up on such virtual work and because of that they can't switch to something that matters much more.
I hope you have a clear plan. Good luck to you, man!

On the one hand simulators do make sense, because they can be quite specific and it allows the trader to qualitatively understand a certain format and get used to the direction that will really give a certain confidence and fixation in the market. On the other hand they are not related directly to the market and I would probably give preference to a demo in that case, especially if it has the same functionality as the main trading terminal. Because in this way you can more quickly get the hang of it, learn all the services offered in practice and choose for yourself what will bring you money in reality. This is really important, because it's not a passive waste of time, but a contribution to the future.

Simulations are good to check the general hypothesis of your idea, but actually quite useless for quantifying whether or not a strategy works. I think most people will eventually trade on lower time frames where they can see more frequency of trading signals, so make more money. When you do that though, you need to alter your trading hours for when the banks and governments of a currency of the pair are open. You also have to deal with news releases. These two situations do not readily present themselves in an historical simulation review. Your accuracy can actually improve by restricting your trading hours and avoiding major news releases. I used simulation a lot in my early years, so understand I am not against it, but I also used a lot of historical chart analysis too. I can tell you, without a doubt, live trading is not the same as either of them. Charts adjust to new data input and alter their shape. What you see live does not always appear the same historically. Whatever you decide to do, it must be demo traded live before you know whether or not it will actually work. This is why it takes years to become a great trader. There are no shortcuts. Simulations only help you focus your intentions and get a feel for the response of your tools. Your real results will likely not match your fake ones, so be prepared for that.
You cannot be extraordinary by being normal

If you want a good trading simulator then you can always try online. There are countless numbers if trading simulators. You Can't really say which one is the best based on the recommendations that you get because of you really want be sure of what you are getting then you feed it take some steps on your own. Life in forex will be much easier if you rely on yourself more that you rely on others. The again if you want the best trading simulator then you can chek the reviews. A good trading simulator should aev reviews because if it does not have reviews then it's probably because it is not worth it. Not all trading simulators that seem good are actually good.
