By making your goals specific and measurable, not only will you know what you really want, but you’ll be able to monitor your progress and see whether you are improving or not. If they are not specific, you’re just wasting your time.

It's not wrong to do good things for you. They're something positive. They're a good thing. Prioritizing something you believe can, in the long term, make you happy, even though it has unpleasant feelings or emotions, does not have to be something you need to do or have to force yourself to do so. There is really only one emotion that feels more when you don't feed your gratified inner cravings – fear. Deep down is the fear of being harmed by the lethargy. And that is all right. And this is all right.

The lack of what you think could be beneficial for your future (work, college, exercises, cigarette quitting/alcohol/weed/etc.). Fahad khan says "makes it a matter of greatest importance for you to stop or hit an occurrence in future, which would carry with you what you feel you don't do". It isn't just as terrible to not do work [insert something you fear]. It is not as nice to not smoke [whichever self-destructing habits and their benefits].
