{quote} Not even necessarily "under him". HotForex is one of the brokerages that pays people $1 (might be more, now?) for a favourable mention in a post in a forex trading forums. There are a couple of others, too. Tickmill used to. These people are fairly evident from their posts. Some forums tolerate it. Others don't. Might be worth putting him on "ignore", though, if it annoys you?

Why are you talking like this?

Is it really hard for most of your to comment on a post without reading your mind to it.

How long have I joined FF and how many posts have I done in these entire years?

It is a pity that majority of you are not even traders but just like posting.

FTMO opened this thread and I paid for a challenge but it's a crime to ask question or because I mentioned a broker to explain my point? The same broker I mentioned last time someone here was complaining of big slippage on cable to justify FTMO.

I met few traders here on EURUSD and GBPUSD threads and you can here such from them.

It just unfair to be accusing wrongly.

Haha You crying Stirmatt? Lol don't let them get you worked up over nothing. Hotforex just has a really terrible reputation, especially outside Nigeria.

Either ways, back to your complaint. hotforex can always give you exact prices on pending orders because they make their own market and can do whatever they want. FTMO and ECN brokers can't guarantee exact prices because they don't have that control, their prices are determined by feed from their liquidity providers. Simple.

On my FTMO demo, I don't notice slippages beyond a few pippetes on a regular day so it doesn't really affect my trades. I'm already used to it as I've been trading with ECN brokers since I began trading, except for XM.

@ftmo-tomas can you explain to me why does ftmo platform has "2x daily open" or somewhat? I don't even know how to explain. Compare the openings of purple trading and ftmo. Purple trading. {image}Ftmo platform: {image} And the reason is why it bothers me is that every monday because of this strange opening times the daily pivot indicator doesn't calculate correct daily pivots. And this is not acceptable. Why is this? Check both screenshots from two different pivot indicators that show historical pivots you see how it messed up on mondays. {image}The...

Hi Tomas, I like FTMO but there are some things that don't work very well such as: I ask you why your sometimes platform freezes, I work with 2 other brokers, Tradeview and Activtrades, they work fine but FTMO freezes, why ?
SPX500 does not allow me to trade, why?
I ask you why in my account some order numbers are not the same as the order numbers in Metrix?
I hope that all our doubts are to improve the environment with FTMO
Be happy, friendly, humble and winner!!

Interesting posts and comments -- I'm still (always) learning...

I have a question for FTMO or anyone else who cares to advise...

I've been exploring different prop traders and currently trading with one. I trade algorithmically -- 28 pairs using one or more EAs. At any one time there will typically be > 20 open positions. If I have to Exit those positions at market close every Friday then I'm toast. I've only found one prop trading service that allows trades to remain open over the weekend.

So, my question to FTMO is: is it fair to say that FTMO's rules do not lend themselves to algorithmic trading of 28 pairs? My intent is not to bash. It's just that if one uses EAs that trades lots of pairs and always has lots of open positions then one frequently observes a DD that ebbs and flows. Even with proper risk and money management there is no way to avoid DD when algorithmically trading 28 pairs. If the answer is "don't trade that way" -- that's fine, it just happens to be my style. But if FTMO has some guidance to mitigate or soften the negative effect of forcibly closing DD every Friday then I was curious to learn more.

Hey man, it seems FTMO is better suited for Day traders or short term swing traders at most. Funny how you're worried about not being able to hold trades over the weekend when they don't even let you hold trades overnight ( i think) Lol.

Best to work with a firm whose conditions fit your trading strategy and style or see if you could make any adjustments. Good to know your EA can trade that much positions and still be able manage risk within "that" prop firm's tight limits.

@Koop -- thanks. Yes -- of course, you're right. Why worry about weekends if you can't hold trades overnight. I was curious whether others had similar concerns.

Setting aside the actual limits, since prop firms have well-defined rules then I've found they lend themselves to algorithmic trading. Until recently I would mostly focus on maximizing profit -- which makes sense when trading your own account and have the luxury of waiting-out DD periods. But with prop trading you don't have that luxury and you are forced to trade differently -- more with an eye toward DD than profit. And, you know, that's not such a bad idea -- even when trading your own account.

Perhaps in time more prop firms will offer programs with rules that are "EA friendly". I like what I've read and learned about FTMO and they seem very responsive to the FF trading community -- so, we'll see...

I ask you how this difference can happen, 306 trades in MT4 and 205 trades in the Metrix with the same profit, $ 5,637.62
This is impossible to happen.
This only happens to me?

I have searched more than once on the FTMO site and here on FF.
I will be asleep, but I haven't found this answer.

With a fully funded account (example):
- I have a profit of 3%
- 2% withdrawal (which is divided with FTMO).

After this withdrawal, what % remains, to reach 10% and obtain the doubling?
That is ... withdrawing money, damage growth?

Please, give me an official link to this info, sur site FTMO.

Thanks
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe
