(A) was the original long target which price easily made but the average at (B) never made it to (A) because as you rightly pointed out price ran into divergence possibly halting the average from climbing further.
In other words the average (B) failed to make the HH of (A))
So the test begins for the opposite direction (B) is a failure so we expect (D) to succeed in passing the LL at (C). If it is to succeed then price makes the next level (E)
