Everyone can become a profitable full-time trader

What do you think of this statement?

Trading is not for everyone. It goes against both our nature and our nurture. That's not to say that profitable trading cannot be done, but it is to say that a profitable trader has to overcome elements that are both inherent in the make up of the species and elements deeply rooted in our socialization.

Of course, anyone can, but most don't, so the question that needs to be asked and answered is, why not?

Find an edge and then be patient waiting for the best probabilities to come your way. Patience is really the key.

Trading trends and waiting for trends. Break outs or break downs from trading ranges. Some use pivots and fibo quite successfully. Davit's Pivot trading on this site is quite good for that. I use an EMA trend following system to give entry signals in trends ie buying weakness in the trend up and selling strength in the trend down.

But there needs to be a plan and one must focus on the plan. Easy to get rattled and start making stupid mistakes. Hard to stay focused on the plan at times.

How can everyone become a profitable full time trader if it is a negative sum game?

well, very few can become full-time trader.I read ff's pages, there are some very smart people here too, but that's all not enough to make you profitable.
my general opinion about the ff posts is that, the very silly idea is presented in a very intelligent way.

Told 2 guys they are not ready to be full-time traders. One was trying to get funded for FTMO, the other set aside 35,000 GBP to be a full-time trader.

The one with 35,000 GBP wanting to be a full-time trader doesn't even know when the major markets open and has no plans when in drawdown except to ask me if the trade would reverse.

The one trying to get funded ended with a -98% in 3 days.

I got blocked when I warned them they are miles from ready, lol.

Truth hurts but if they listened, they would had saved money. Those losses could had been better spent on scotch and hookers, lmao.

Most new traders see it as a way to make quick and easy money. They have no idea of the skills and time required to become consistently profitable. Inevitably, they fail.

Yes, it is true that there are traders with more money, superior information, quicker access, and better tools than everyone else (i.e. the retail trader).

But the truth is, each individual trader is really only in competition with themselves. The Market needs losers, and our inherent nature and our learned socialization do more to provide losers than any predatory advantages ever do.

And remember, the Smart Money isn't the Smart Money because they never lose; they're the Smart Money because they lose better.

Like everyone can become doctor,or lawyer or whatever they want.Is this right?NO,of course is not. Full time trader is profession and as any profession is not suit for everybody neither is trader.

you are not a beginner ... Fx does not exist because of retail traders but because of countries, large companies, etc.
in short, it is theoretically possible for all retailers to be profitable.

There are different styles of trading and investing that ranges from very high-frequency trading to long term investing. You can be successful in any style if you focus on it, except maybe high-frequency trading for which you need extra technology and knowledge to set it up.
Full-time trading is not for everyone. Not everyone can handle sitting in front of a monitor and watch the market moving all day.
As a day trader, you must process and interpret more data and react to it quicker and more frequently than a swing trader. As a day trader, you can learn faster because you make more trades and also mistakes than a swing trader in the same period of time.
