{quote} I agree with all aspects. Make sure to demo trade and make sure to take demo trading seriously.

True. If one is just playing around on demo, they are wasting their time and setting themselves up for a disaster when they move to a live account.

If you want to practice before entering into the real trading, A demo account will be the best option for you. A demo account will help you to make your trading knowledge increased. On the other hand, live account will help you to make money with your investment and knowledge.

That's an interesting question. Will you be as successful on live acc as on demo? - My personal answer -no. Even with a few bucks you will feel different when trading and opening a position. You targets and stop-losses can be changed or you can just leave the position with no reason.. That's why - try to do it on a live accound with minimum deposit you are not afraid to lose. All the best!

Concur with Dima. Oversimplified, trading live and demo are exactly the same thing -- what changes is the trader.

When real money was at stake, my mindset changed noticeably. Since I started trading real money, I've had almost three months of almost consistent losses, certainly more than that when I was trying different brokers. Just look at my current trade history, it's pitiful. Even so, I never lost my shirt. With effective risk management, I could try different things to discover what works for me and what doesn't. An advantage about doing everything in live is that I didn't have to ask questions like, "Will this work in live?"

I moved to live trading well before I was ready, and I survived by learning to respect the market and protect my capital. Performance isn't guaranteed, but you can work to become better, whether it's in a risk-free demo or in a live account.

the dispute between live and demo is very common , generally newcomers always consider there is technological difference between two. but honestly the no nothing something like that , the main issue is seriousness , no real money in demo that's why we cant focus on there.

If you are successful in demo by following a very specific methodology for a long period of time, you have higher possibility of doing good in live as well. But if you are random in demo, your chances are zero in live. When it comes to real money we start thinking a bit differently.

there is no difference between live and demo account ,
but we think in practical . if there is any difference between two it just all about psychology, nothing without it.

I have full faith in the usefulness of demo practice and I do agree that the difference between demo and live is only psychological. But it's psychology that will probably make you change your plan or your stop-loss position if you are trading using real money.

I have a theory for initial capital in demo. How much capital we should take for demo? My suggestion is take the exact amount of money you would invest in your real account. If you wish to 200$ in real account, practice with 200$ in demo with your strategy.

I believe that treating your demo account just as you would treat your real account is good practice.

1. Interest for traded currencies and/or margin only apply for Live trading. Additional cost that does not reflect in demo

2. spread surges affects Live trades for sure, but sometimes it cannot execute in Demo, either resulting in trades not open/close or different P/L

Hello everyone. My name is Joanne and I am just starting to get involved with trading. I have learned to have an account plan first and not to just shoot from the hip. It tends to keep me on track of where I am heades. I have a great mentor who is helping me a lot. I hope that this helps someone.

The purpose of demo is to be familiar with the trading mechanism. Another purpose of demo is to test your strategy. Stay on demo as long as you find a proven method. Define your entry, exit, risk, reward and risk management policy on demo. Once you are convinced you can go for live trading.

generally we the traders always use demo account to see the performance how our strategies work , in my trading career at the early stage i always use high leverage in demo and this approach helped me a lot to avoid unfortunate risk and losses when trading in a live.
