I traded EurUsd during US election night 4 years ago.. I wont forget that day 300 pips swing... at first EurUsd kept running up since they thought Hillary easily won that night.. then came with Trump won Fl.. EurUsd started its freefall...
Make sure we prepare to trade with flow.. don't fight with the trend next Tuesday night.....

Thanks for this reminder, even though that was an unforgettable day. I brought my political, and sense of reason into my trades that night and got caught short on USDJPY. Initially, the Trump win seemed bad (for several reasons) so I was short on equities, UJ, AJ. Anyhow, did not get a BE stop on UJ and it took a bite out of me after smarter money realized that there would be no rules ahead. I'm posting here and now and stating that I will just not be trading election night. Unless there is a clear cut Biden win, I expect that the election will be litigated in Trump-friendly courts for at least a month, which will mean huge market uncertainty.

Time to think about what I need in my refrigerator.
