Just me personally, I like to see the next bar after a failed test close lower than the low of the test.

If you look 2 bars prior to the failed test, there is another ND with the next bar closing below the low of the ND, and the ND you marked off is a text book example, just seeing how far below the next bar closed below the low of it.

Love the way you make things look easy while some of us sometimes complicate trading .. Mid Red Zone was good for a today short .. got some +67 off it .. Keep assisting with those Charts .. Cheers and Good Weekend ahead ...

Here's a fun "quiz"

Rules:

1. You may use any additional information to justify your answer, but you must limit your view to just the 1-hour chart. In other words, if your answer states, "the daily says x....", you will be disqualified.

2. Nomenclature does not matter. Accordingly, if you want to change the labels that is permitted. You will not be penalized for naming an interval a "High Volume Test", whereas TradeGuider would call it "Professional Buying".

3. Show your work. Don't just say "where" tell "why".

Currently, Short the EUR/USD.

The second to last interval was a Test. It failed with the next interval being DOWN. However, the volume on said interval was less than the previous two intervals. That's No Supply.

*** I'm thinking about doing a combine/challenge. By holding this position over the weekend, I would have failed. Lol.***

hey, i for 1 would definetly not look to short just now. looking left, there s obviously high vol comin in stopping the down move, the recent activity shows (to me) buying on thursday( a lot of vol and we are making progress upwards, also closing higher on low vol) and friday the high vol comes in on the down move stopping it at the 618.
but cos that was a friday, and there could be a mix or profit taking and small intraday trades during high volatility caused by news etc, i d need more info.(cos i d doubt that SM are positioning long or short late on a friday). as the chart looks right now i d look for a DB at that fib or a fake break of the lows. and look for buyers to show up there. if that doesn happen then i d look to the chart more bearish. this could also play out as a range for a while till there s more shorts or longs build up, but ofc volume would have to sow that. anyhow, no shorts in that current price for me. ofc, i d like to read more opinions on this as we all see the same thing in different ways.so.. btw, good idea @HiddenGap

I really do like this short, the only thing where you entered is a little low for a single entry.

Oct 13th, there is a widespread down bar which I see as bearish because the pair has already seen a significant up move from Sep 28th-Oct 9th. Oct 15th I would've preferred to start building shorts when price started rejecting the trigger number of the Oct 13th down bar.

Personally today I would be looking to add more shorts as price breaks through the test bar that you've already shown on your screenshot.

I wouldn't consider any shorts because of how aggressively price move up after bar 3.

I don't see anywhere I would have any longs just yet, since this is gold I would wait until the US session today and see where we are at. Ideally in US session I'd like to see price testing the trigger number of Bar 3.
EU still looks weak to me looking at the overall picture, but same stuff, strenght on thursday, altho if u back out and zoom out, that s really not that much vol on EU, looks more like profit taking, and u again have weakness on friday, evr.. EU looks still short for next week thus far i guess, but could also range for a while..more info needed given the fact hat these charts are friday.

Wide Spread up bar on Oct 15th and a high volume test 3 bars later with price pushing up afterwards has me bullish.

Today as price was dropping there is a sudden increase in volume.

Looking to see if this can push through the highs on Oct 16.

not to be a contrarian, but i just marked up EA 2hrs ago to look to short lol. i dunno if u just wanna scalp the pullback or ur biased long. this is what i see, high vol leading to lower prices on thursday, friday u have the fake break and more signs of weakness, so i figured a fib pullback would be nice if sellers show up ofc, moreover it s at the top of 4hr range, and to me, thus far looks more like a mini distribution rather then accumulating longs. ofc this is just how i see the chart, not pretending to be right! that s nice that we all look at almost the same thing but we have different views or theories about.(except the vol part which could differ from lp to lp). thoughts and critiques are welcomed as always.

here is my view (comments on the picture) a lot of lines, but they all play a role. too bad markets already moved (i usually don't look at forums during weekends, but my analysis would be the same if i would reply on Sunday night)
we could do this quiz at some random time in the past and hide the time and maybe even the asset and then see how each other sees the chart. what do you guys say about that?

Yeah.. closing out 1/2 of the position going to hold the other half for 1.6650 ish.

I've talked about this a little bit but haven't really stressed this. I focus on volume during home sessions, EA follows AUD heavily so I concentrate for the most part on the Asia / Australian session.

Oct 16th, during Asia there was a healthy up bar closing on the highs and we didn't see really any bearish reactions to it. Today price did stall a little bit, but drop down to a M15 chart and there was just too much volume on the lows.
