For me, as an extreme scalper, news doesn't bother me. It's just something that moves price and I will actively trade the reaction move to the initial news.

As far as CAD goes, this is very specific however. CAD will ALWAYS move on OIL news.

Edit: just analysing the loss to see if it could have been avoided... looks like NZD has been in a very steep downtrend for a few days, consistently making new lows. Perhaps pairs like this should be avoided? Or perhaps I should be looking for opportunities to short?

I've been sticking to M15 entries only where the price has retested the daily low and is showing another rejection from that level.
I haven't really been analysing the price action much further back than that.

Interested to hear if others do any more analysis on a pair before taking a HOLO trade?

The previous hour open is correct here as it is the highest H1 open for the day.

You're right. Is the trade still valid? Because setup has a crossover has taken place in the previous hour already? Or is that up to the trader?

As long as the current hour isn't a breakout of the daily high and as long as the M5 or M15 candle opens between the Open High and the Daily High I believe the setup is valid.

Of course it's up to the discretion of the trader as to whether the trade is worth taking or not

That's very interesting.

I'll start keeping a much closer eye on news events and how they affect the markets.

Being able to capitalise on volatility created from the news would be a great skill to have!

Hi All

As promised, I've set up the GitHub repos to host the source code for both of the EA's.
I haven't had a chance to do any real clean-up of the code but TooSlow requested I post the source.
I of course understand the reason for this as running compiled code from an unknown source is obviously a risky affair.

Going forward all updates and new releases will be posted to the GitHub repos.

Of course people are free to take the source and modify as they see fit however I would kindly ask if anyone wishes to contribute changes to please submit the changes through the GitHub repo and do not post alternate versions of the EA directly to this thread.

If there are those who are not familiar with Git but would still like to submit a code change, please PM me the details.

I only ask this to keep things simple and clear for all.
