Mr. BSW, the ignore button is not that useful, because a BS master like you would create a new account and come back again.

Btw, you didnt mention which were your previous alliases on FF, because it seems you had quite a few.

Re-editing posts won't help the fact, that troll got his one person zoo for now to chill.

What failed to realize, that I am if anything not fond of the ignore button, and tolerated BSWilliam longer than most would...

But there is a limit to everything, my patience included.

Now the journal can get back to normal,
And I can get back to swimming and weekend chilling.

Happy weekend!

Hi,

It's seems that I've arrived a little late to the party, so I don't have much more to add to what other members have already stated.

Not on daily basis, but I have also been many times already in The Room. Enough to notice that its members are very nice and welcoming, helpful and without the general clash of egos that we normally see here on FF. Some trade for a living, both with personal accounts and also managing money for prop-firms. Live real-time swing/scalp trade-calls are the bread of every day.

So I genuinely believe that it's undoubtedly a great place for like-minded individuals, and without any kind of "worshiping" to anyone.

Anyway, haters gonna hate...

Cheers!

I have tried many times to join but simply can't navigate discord to get myself in lol.
I am sure everybody will benefit from my experience.
Why can't we simply have a private room here to do this?

Imho it's not elegant to put BW on ignore. He is direct and a good man with no malicious intention. He just wanted more info than most willing or not able to provide. Anyway it's just my view.

Cheers

the link directly take one there.
judging from the number of members, current and previous who just joined to check things out ( stay in the background without as much as a 'hello', which in turn lead to be a forced departure as per the decision of the active side of the membership)
joining IS a simple task.

opinions on decisions are OK, as long as mine is also respected, is for nothing else bcos this thread stands fundamentally for a different reason.
to seek out a member of the forum, there is PM or shout directly for him on his profile, else he gave the alternative way to join a trading room.
neither option mentioned should be a big deal if knowledge is what seriously sought.

what i think about elegant of not elegant, is for example NOT elegant to contantly re-edit posts and thus try to alter the meaning, which may change the larer reply's from other to seemingly different.
Malicious intent for example when someone is calling anyone who decide to join said trading room mindless zombies or cult followers and feedbacks questioable, but supposedly never bother to do the easy step to self verify something himself.

read back the exchange, maybe try to read my replies too, is there is some editing on my side, only for spelling, not to alter meaning, i dont need to resort that, if the last place on my own journal thread would be.
certainly this is where I can write whatever I want to say, and everyone can do so disrespectful of me on THEIR thread/s.
and no, no one have to respect me. just respect yourself. enough for not to read this thread if you dont care about me.
in the end it is NOT a 'trading discussion' thread, not a personal message board for other members. there is platfrom for those, elsewhere.

i dont care how one defines good man, nor that one falls into that category overall, or by my standard; i care that if i request to stop trolling my thread, then it is getting stopped while the tone is friendly business like.

and finally for the ignore...it is really such a previlage for someone to land there. it is probably the 3rd time in 6 years i have used it, to force someone to sit out a few rounds and cool off.
typically i do when multiple others ask my to just put on ignore someone acting naughty continously. like it was the case this time.
however, it leaves the said member's options still fully open to use the right channels to contact the sbject of his knowledge seeking, if that is the real intention what was simple executed in a bad ways: PM, shout, or joing to the discord room where the trader is a member as he pointed that out.
nothing else is taken over, the trolling and off posts on my journal.
( even that likely for a few days, no previous ignored ones had to continue there after a short period. if they are grown up, they will just go their way, and i continue "my way to highway", MY WAY!)

with this post, this incident is fully behind me.
somewhere burried now by about 2 pages of posts, there is a link to the trading room for those interested to check it out.
else it is Monday, London is opening in a good 2 hours of time, and i am looking forward to start another trading week.

happy trading!

PS. anyone who wrote a feedback, a thumb up for all of you, in words, bcos as stange as it is i cant give thumb up as 'commercial' as oer the forum's rules.

Well I can understand yr indignation and if I am 20 years younger I would probably feel the same. But now as I already wasted 68 years and after living thru a terrible illness I am more patient and slower to be affected. Anyway opinions and negativity are just that and this is your thread and everybody have to respect your rules.
I have clicked on the link several times you sent me and I just can't seem to be able to join. But I will try to do it again now and hopefully I can join you in making some live calls.

Cheers.

I clicked on the link and it reads invite to join already expired.

Reading PF's thread only today after some time.

I'd like to witness that "the room" is an excellent place to grow and learn new facets of trading even if you've already some profitable strategies.

It acts as mind opener widening your knowledge horizon by simply confronting yourself with other fellow traders.
It push you to learn something new that probably wouldn't have happened if you remained alone in your office.

In the last weeks I'm puzzled, fascinated and every day more curious on scalping, a trading style I've never considered before that I see successfully implemented by traders in the room making real live trade calls.

I was so caught on it that I tried myself to follow the flow however without having the right experience, mindfulness and knowledge I incurred in some losses after many months in green territory.

But I want to make it clear that is 100% my fault and responsibility, because a new endeavour as anything takes time to be mastered.
Therefore I'll go back to my way while taking the necessary time to learn and manage this new challenge.

Unfortunately having a full time job differently from many fellow traders in the room I don't have all the weeks the same amount of time to dedicate.
All in all a better place where really capable traders support each other towards the common objective.

Thank you Zoltan for creating it,
Bubincka

hi Bubincka!

thank you for the kind words.
reading your comment, came another one to my mind, something Nafis wrote me when we chat this week...ties well into your post:

"what u teach is very powerful and it looks deceptively easy but in application its not so easy when market grinds. Takes a few tries to get all the lesson sink in like second nature"

it sure takes some practice, and while i am generally never been fond of demo accounts, still would say trying out a new way of trading it can be a good idea to have some practice on demo account first.

many ppl have a full time job alongside trading, makes sense.
trading is simple, but not easy!
i never expect similar time input from a part time trader than someone who trade full time like myself.
even then, i think many would recall hearing me talk about 'balance'.
and i dont mean the balance as money...but 'balance' as in life.
the right mixture of trading and not trading, enough money vs going after every last cents, full time vs all the time...
those who know me for some time, i am sure understand what i am referring to.

happy weekend!
Zoltan

ps. the discord link in post #1277 is still valid

Hi Profitfarmer,
Your name caught my eyes because of one post you wrote below:
'for example, in my own little world i am successful. i trade full time, make about 2x as much as my last salaried job, with less than half of the 'work' hours.
instead of being away from my family weeks ( like last job), i am at home, trading from home.
am i a millionaire? not.
am i making 100%+ a month? not.
am i feeling content with what i make, for the effort i put in? yes.
in my own little world, i consider this "success" '

I checked your profile and it leads me to here.
Very impressive.

I trade for a while and get burned.
Now start again.
I always tell myself 'There is always, always another trade' when I missed/lost a trade.
Thanks for your posts. I learned a lot from them.

hi newbie2020,

see you have joined to the discord earlier today!
there is a good handful of successful traders along with some newers, a good place to pick up the mentality of the day-to-day what it takes to navigate trading.
it is also a friendly enough environment, generally free from the forum nonsenses...yet to find there someone starting to write about making 500% a day, or wanting to grow 20$ to millions...(ok, admit, had one of that, "left" quickly, lol).

a down to earth bunch, and i am really happy i dont need to do much moderation there. which is great, bcos i dont want to, beyond keeping only the active members around.
judging from your above post, you will fit in very well there.
and the many trade calls will help to alarm you sometimes of a trade you may want to consider; more eyes, less missed opportunties

happy trading!

Thanks PF,
I sit in the corner and watch people talking in the Discord last night. It was a great feeling. I felt not lonely as a trader (well, a very junior one) that time.

based on the MyfxBook stats, you are keeping orders opened until they are in profit, or are minimizing the losses, and you open more orders when in DD.
this strategy will fail unequivocably one day.

Curious to know what was that myfxbook stat.
But also happily note here 2 things:

1. Orders aren't kept open overnight, thus can't kept open until in profit. Scalping, you know. There is plenty big chunk of orders closed as losing, the overall w% is about 75%...day to day consistent results, a different story altogether.

2. One day probably every strategy will fail. Nor I expect to live forever.

So obvious out of the way, thanks for passing by and giving your disapproval on my trading. Noted.

Happy trading!

update

September came and gone, it was a solid month without major issues to trading.

Attached Image

it is always a debate what is good result, what is low return, personally i am still a fan for consistency, and a good trade/life balance.
a 7% month can keep me a content full-full time trader, although admittable wont make me an overnight millionaire.
when it is come to trading for a living, it is all about the long term, "sustainable" result, and survival in a sense.
some ways it is similar to prop trading.
in prop, often comes up the question: ok, one qualifies, but how long usually those funded traders last?
for various reasons, but typically not that long.
recently i chatted with one of the prop firm manager, and the numbers were like follow:
"they falling out like bad apples actually. first 2 months 65% failure rate (sometimes higher)"
"longer than 3 months 78"

there is upside in going for homeruns, and there is upside in consistency too.
i find that the later is easier on the emotions most of the day. not a small part that a winning day less likely to call for a revenge trade.
that said, it is very important for everyone to find a trading style that fit him; both the mechanics, and the schedule.

the discord channel is still open.
going well, slowly we got more swing traders as well to populate a more recent swing trading thread.
as anywhere, ppl come and go on.
some probably have a different idea, thinking it is a trading system sharing place, which isnt.
some seem to have trouble interacting with others; i can understand background readers but it doesnt add anythng to the community there. eventually they just get removed, without any hard feeling on my side, since the door is always open.
that leaves us with about 40ish traders, and i am happy to see that the majority is online there day after day, helping each with trade calls/heads up on some pairs otherwise may be missed out, discussing things, and the meantime keeping a friendly atmosphere.
a hard core of traders. it is all about them. those who stay. something must be done right else they would not.
feels like mission accomplished!

happy trading!
there is always, always another trade!!
