Hi,

Just curious to know how other traders fill their time between trades or when no trades that fulfill their system criteria are close to being met.

I used to spend that time just staring at the charts and looking for other potential systems that could fit my style of trading or improve my current system.

Of course I still am looking for improvements but not all day everyday. Now that I have a profitable system and am enjoying the benefits of years of struggle to become a consistently profitable forex trader to where I can live the life I had always hoped was achievable.

I try to travel(or did before 2020) as much as possible and visit places that offer a way to relieve stress be it through the view or activities.

I don’t have contact with many other traders so would love to hear what others do in between their chart time.

I use Instagram to follow other traders are doing so it would be great and if you want to follow or dm so we can trade experiences in living the forex way that would be awesome(not selling or offering any kind of service just to talk) www.instagram.com/Ant_Forex

Thanks x

I do life!

Haha what I mean is that if I'm trading that day then I will do other things through the day, between checking the charts on the hour, like going for a run, reading, gardening, general admin around the house. If it's a non-trading day then I go hiking, surfing or catch up with friends and family.

Life's too short to stare at charts all the time. I've done it in the past and it made me a worse trader e.g. overtrading, going to lower and lower timeframes... and it also made me miserable.

Here's a blog post I wrote, just coming at it from a slightly different angle:

While the mind is still engrossed in the charts and markets only, I try making the body busy in other chores of life, spending time with family, doing what I like, visit places I have to, etc. etc.

Oh, this is the right idea, and most likely this hobby should not be somehow connected with the trading itself. Because some of the traders I know distribute their time in such a way that they either trade actively or study the theory, i.e. they don't see any prospects in any other business, and I think that we should be distracted in such a way that we completely forget about trading. And I think that the best solution in this case is sport.
Especially when you consider the fact that we spend a lot of time sitting in front of the computer, a lot of reading, constantly studying the fine graphics. So, fresh air and regular physical activity is exactly what we need.

It seems to me that traders should not dwell on trading at all, because it leads to the fact that in the end a person does not rest at all, and thus he may even lose the desire to develop and work for results. And I believe that even your favorite business should not take 24 hours a day. A person should distribute his time so that he could devote enough time to all areas of his life. This way you will always have inspiration and desire to move forward. And there is no need for some secret method. Here the key importance acquires exactly the calmness and even in some way the lack of excitement. It is necessary to look at any situation as objectively as possible and not to make up unnecessary things.

Interesting topic,

I have looked after my 3 and a half year old adopted daughter from birth, whilst my wife goes to work. I watch cartoons all day, I know Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol, Fancy Nancy, SpongeBob Squarepants, and all the characters backwards. I take my girl and dogs for a walk every day. Every once in a while I find my computer turned off because my little miss Muppet likes to play with buttons. She has not found the buy and sell buttons yet. Touchwood She does not care about news, she does not care about stops, All she cares about is her Dadda paying immediate attention

Will I change anything. Nope, Sir, I love every bit of it

A day in the life of Wavegarrick,
Cheers.

hey vin.... yes it's legal..... hogs are considered a nuisance animal here in the states and can be hunted year round in some cases 24 hours a day with no limit....

they are not bad for me here because of the amount of land i have ..... if a hog comes within 2 miles of my house, he is trespassing.....

i have 6 large permanent corral type traps and 2 small mobile ones..... if you keep hunting pressure up, they are not a problem.... this mornings catch was over 1000 pounds which is 4 times normal... they were all large....

i'll clean'em, process'em and we distribute the packaged meat around ....

it's a win for all.....h
