lots of pain for bears w/o closing below the tl 1775, and or eventually 1714 1690. It likely needs the month below. Bulls want it above 1776.

I dont know where it will end up. I do know the usdx hit near the sister tl as support. So far it has not breached it.

Interesting day as DXY is not getting slaughtered by SP500 1%+ move today..

some hope for the dollar there...

a correction is overdue by far on the stock market... even if breaf would make a havoc among markets..

- 1788 4h may be bear, but so close to tl 1775 support.. it may be best to have the day -1775.

I shorted EU and EJ all day... I have cashed out EJ shorts for now,,,last one at 125.29...and .. still short EU until bears give up H1 downtrend...last EU added by EA at 1815,,,, in water atm..

Robots Don't Revenge


I suck at trading.

I am great at designing strategies. I am good at understanding market structure and flows. If you ever read my morning note you know that many more days than not I am right on the money when it comes to direction.

But I suck at trading.

If you gave me the cookie test at the ripe young age of 50+ I would fail it in a heartbeat. I have enough impulse control for about three trades ( which for daytrader like me is about 2 hours worth of work). After that discipline goes out the window and I spend about 50% of my trading hours undoing the damage of my impulse trades. It is truly a testament to the strength of my strategy that I am able to eke positive days more often than not despite the hundreds of unforced errors that I make.

This week I did a presentation for my friend David Aranzabal who runs a trading show in Madrid every summer. For more than a decade I would fly out for Madrid every summer catch up with my trading buddies meet our Spanish BK customers eat the best food in the world and drink great wine - something I never do back home. This year however all of that amazing fun had to be put on hold. Instead, I did what seemed like my one-millionth Zoom of the summer, but perhaps precisely because I was not distracted by the charms of Madrid I was able to truly focus on the subject at hand and David was able to extract from me three insights for which I will be forever grateful.

David asked me what I thought was the greatest weakness of all traders and without hesitation I said, “Entries.” This flies in the face of conventional wisdom which always argues that entries don’t matter and it’s all about exits. That’s nonsense. Entries are the Achillies heel of every trader - and especially every day trader where timing literally means money.

If you have a sound trading strategy here are three ways that entries can destroy your day.

The-walk-the-dog-get-a-cup-of-coffee-get-your-kid-to-school miss. You are staring at the screen for several hours get up to do an incidental errand and miss the setup.
The-it’s-still-good-setup chase trade. You are a couple of minutes late to the chart but you’ll be damned if you pass up this perfect trade!
The-ever popular f-this-I-am-gonna-reverse-in-size-and-get-my-money-back revenge trade.
Which is why I decided I need to automate all my entries. Robots never miss a trade. Robots never chase. And most importantly robots don’t revenge.

That’s not to say that robots are perfect. They can mindlessly trade you into a margin call if they are not properly supervised. In fact, they almost certainly will do that which is why the retail trading dream of set it and forget it is just that - a dream. Robots like all personnel must be properly managed. You can’t abnegate the responsibility for your trading decisions to a machine and expect to collect money like an 18th-century aristocratic baron.

There is no free lunch on Wall Street. One way or another you have to work hard to make pips and ticks. But working hard is not enough. Our instincts always sabotage our efforts which is why a methodical, pre-planned machine entry is one of best ways to make sure you can keep your edge in the markets.
