its a tough question to answer in a proper way . leverage is an important financial tool that allows an investor to grow his market exposure to an initial investment. what leverage is more appropriate for you it depends on your trading approach , if there is good money and risk managing plan with most powerful analyzing trade knowledge, then there is a chance to bring good result by means of using leverage.

Though it depends from trader to trader, different traders prefer using contrasting leverage while they trade. But I think for newbies, it is better to start it little low to tackle risk properly.

I think for the new traders it will be very safe to use as low leverage as they can.

The best leverage for newbie is – no leverage. Until you gain some experience and become confident that your strategy can produce profits, it is better to stay away from leverage. Go step by step in forex and you will reach to lever your investment one day

yes its a good solution ,
beginner should trade very first with no leverage , but in practical they use high and fall a great trouble.

when you have lack of exact trading plan with zero risk management ,
then i think any leverage ratio can be harmful when trading in a real account.

Leverage is important for new traders, because the lower the leverage, the better for a trader. New traders usually make more mistakes. For this reason, their leverage should always be kept low. When I was a new trader I had trouble with leverage. That's why I suggest everyone keep their leverage at 1:20. Your balance will be protected at this leverage. If you keep your leverage high, you will get in trouble. The broker has given you the benefit of leverage so that you do not put your account at risk.

Leverage should depends on your sterategy also because leverage is not a stand alone it is part of your sterategy.So if you like day trading then you should have high leverage but if you like to have long term trading then you should have low leverage.

Strategy has nothing to do with it. Leverage is a tool like a knife in your kitchen you can use it to cook something nice for you, you can use it to cook something ugly, you can kill somebody, you can decide to not use it but have it in your kitchen.

I would start with a low leverage account and gradually work up to a higher leverage as you get good at trading.

Beginners should not risk it high in the start. Using low leverage is much better.

I think a newbie should trade with a lower leverage not the standard 1:500 that is being pushed by brokers. Coz when you are starting out, you usually make impulsive decisions on trades and it's possible to lose big especially since you don't fully understand. So I would suggest a lower leverage such as 1:100 or 1:200 for newbie's but that's just my opinion.

Leverage should not affect position size, rather a high leverage should be treated as if it was low, otherwise the risk to blow account is high.
