As I already mentioned, I approach each transaction individually. The hour doesn't matter here.

I have totally failed to understand how you trade this differently from original strategy but I guess I need time to start afresh and follow your comments, maybe then I will get it

This may be because I rely a lot on a simple Price Action strategy. And as I mentioned before, I approach each pair individually. I often use buy limit and sell limit where I have to make corrections during the day due to xcross.

I'm experimenting with some new rules for this coming week. Jarass's idea is awesome but I personally struggle reading price action so I'm trying to define a more mechanical approach that can sit alongside his.

* Dashboard is now set to trigger an alert after reaching 95% of ADR price
* Open 15m chart and check for the RSI OB/OS
* When price moves out of the OB/OS zone, wait for one confirmation candle and make sure price is within the ADR range (100%, not 95%) - do not enter a trade if it hasn't reentered the ADR range by this point and do not wait for price to do so. Close the chart as this setup is dead.
* Move down to the 5m and verify that the LWMA MACD has already cross the last cross (so the confirmation has already happened) - if not, don't enter. Close the chart as this setup is dead.
* If all of these match enter, risk based on OGT's rules, SL set to last swing high/low, get out for profit or loss at next MACD cross if trade still active

My thinking behind this is:
a) If the price has hit ADR and already come back in it's a much clearer show of that the daily support and resistance provided by ADR is active. The 5% difference is based on the idea of a 5% ADR support/resistance zone. Price can stretch outside the ADR but MUST come back in by the time the signal for the trade is valid.
b) If the LWMA MACD has already passed the last cross on the 5m, then price has broken any kind of short time frame support or resistance and will hopefully run. If you have to wait for a cross then you're relying on price to break a zone and keep moving, which is hard to say for certain if it will. Plus if MACD is already moving and decides to reverse, there's a bit less lag on the MACD allowing you to cut your losses sooner.
c) We move down to the 5m to manage the trade so we can get out sooner if things turn south on us.

Fingers crossed. Will post trades when they happen when I can, or after action at the end of the day if I don't have time

Thank you for complimenting my idea. I shared this because I saw potential in members of this topic. I personally look in my direction as a person And it seems to me that each of us is looking in a different direction, so you and thank you for your work. I am an investor, not a programmer.

Thank you Jarass Likewise I shared mine to both compliment yours and allow others in the thread to help come up with ideas and improvements. It's only in working together that we'll find a strong profitable system

I have a second xcross, maybe this one will be better. I still have the "icing on the cake" but it seems to me that it is not needed.

@Jarass1080: Maybe you want to open your own thread with your strategy? Now you have three own indicators to look for the best entry, sooner or later this doesn't have something to do with the strategy presented in this thread. As well for new readers it's really hard to follow the thread if everyone is posting his own idea and own results because it's easy to mix them up...

Hi J

Imagine a medical forum where patients and doctors discuss surgical processes.... therefore some people are educated on the topic and the other group have some experience as customers and also hold an opinion. That is the case here too.. Most of the users come from many fields outside of finance and feel like they can become successful at making money trading. Tempers heat up and the best thing to do is really to either ignore some comments or create your own thread and restrict posting in it.

I have followed your post closely and feel that your content is of value and interesting. Thanks for your efforts and thoughts. BUT this strategy is a "reversal" strategy and I feel that this is very hard to do. I have seen that you have progressed far and wish you the best of success in your trades.

when you go live with this be aware that things change. Psychology... execution of trades... the whole ball game becomes different .... and going from trading accounts with 1K to very high amounts again changes the picture.

Best of luck

L
