Is it easier to become a Nobel winner than a successful trader

It sounds funny but I realize that I can easily find a Nobel winner in real life, while I have to dig out the Internet all day long but still can not name a successful trader. Does it confirm that it is much harder to become a successful trader than to be come a Nobel winner/a super star footballer/a famous singer/a CEO of Fortune 500?

There are many reasons. The most common among the retail crowd is that the sisters Pareidolia and Apophenia will never let any one win long term and they have never -and will never - be defeated.

I think these two things are so vastly different in nature that they should not be compared.

Well I believe a noble winner or a successful trader, both of them require hardcore hard work. There is no point in comparing the two.. both reach heights only when the put their best foot forward.

Then tell me the process of Nobel winning? Lolz.

its a very good point , sometimes we the traders cant predict the real faction of this market with certainly in spite of having good knowledge and experience even professional traders who already passed a long time in here. in that time traders feel really helpless and think world most complex issue this trading place which is harder than getting a novel price.

I've always wondered... What if instead of creating a strategy from scratch, we create a system based on other people's successful trades? Like to plot their trades on a chart and develop a strategy from that.

The problem is that retail traders, especially Forex traders, don't care about economic and geopolitical fundamentals. All they do is draw fancy lines and put indicators on charts and think this will tell them where the price is heading in the next couple of hours or days. Technical analysis has it's right to exist, but without fundamentals it is as the infamous analogy says: like trying to drive a car by looking through the rear window.

And it is understandable: Dealing with fundamentals is complex and difficult. It is easier to draw lines and use indicators.

Well said buddy! By the way, trading is a challenging job and no doubt on it. But the point is, initially new traders take it so lightly!

New traders often have a very skewed perception about forex and trading are, unfortunately.

Honestly speaking I think trading may seem a little complicated but this is not so. It is traders who have this idea that forex is a complicated thing. Even if you strive to become a noble winner or a successful trader both require best efforts.

I think, that's not true. If you have dedication and experience you can easily become successful trader.

Since most Nobel winners have PhDs which require:
4 years full time undergraduate
~7 years full time grad school
(not to mention several years spent in academia before becoming a laureate)

If you can find me someone who has been studying forex markets for 11+ years full time I bet they could turn a profit.

Not to mention that only a very, very small portion of people who hold a PhD end up winning a Nobel Prize. That’s why you have a Nobel Prize awarding ceremony but no “most successful trader of the month” ceremony.
