Since a couple of months I trade exclusivly Futures, (I call myself a newbie) and last week was also a desaster compared to former weeks!

I promise--PA/OF is better to read n a couple of weeks.
This week ES performs pretty nice so far.

I am after ES nowadays much better PA compare to YM.
Frustrated setbacks after setbacks.

Yesterday august 12, I played the iceberg bounce on the dow around 27,767. Caught a nice pop. Was actually shocked to nail it during regular trading hours. Sometimes the icebergs aren't perfect or fail, due to pulling orders.

And now today we are back in the same trading range, so I took it slow. Lost 1 trade by closing it and changing my mind to reverse... got alerted to an iceberg on the ask around noon, price of 27,860. For some dumb reason I didn't think that iceberg would hold it back, but it sure did, except the "sell off" was really mild and I ended up going long near lows and now holding it out to let it "play out" Target is 27,900 for the longs.

Overall today was pretty slow. The action just wasn't there. I could have sat it out honestly, not much to do really.
Oh well, a little red isn't the worst $-100. We will see tonight if it breaks loose to the upside to continue the rally.

How to Stop Hunt on the Globex:

Find a tight range.
Make sure you have enough buying power to take out the next 2-3 price levels on the DOM...buy at market and watch the mini panic!
...40 contracts is enough to sweep a few stops or help get it in motion, so long as you hit into the offer in a likely spot where noobs have placed stops.

This probably wouldn't work during RTH...unless it was really slow or a holiday

Attached is a picture of my 40 lot shot...my exit was fast. And then they faded that spike, so I could've made a few more points, oh well. Next time.

Well I'm alive and well, good to see you guys posting and surviving in trading.
I still need to watch those videos you posted.

S&P 500 and Nasdaq are doing great. They lead the pack. I should have also switched over to one of those, but I keep swinging my weight around in the Dow futures. This week paid off real good, made $1700 real money, so I'm pretty happy about that. Price action was shit last week, need to look into switching instruments when I see that happen. It's too easy to make a splash in Dow, especially after hours on Globex and then it seems like I've got algo's hunting me.

Learning never stops for me. Even when profitable. I hope I can keep knocking down $2k a week, then again that's not what brings me joy. It's freedom, free time, and family. Or for short, FFF.

ES is boring,slow moving and less noise compare to YM. Good instrument for the funded trading programmes.. allows me to to trade less for more bucks.
Still working off the radar to get through the funded accounts. As you said learning never stops, especially one about ourselves. Its all within our hands.

You can definitely get funded, it's just a matter of time, skill, and maybe a dash of luck can't hurt. They have some tight rules I know.

I'm catching up on videos and that book by Denise Schull "Market Mind Games"...At first I was kinda skeptical of her work, but it's making more sense as I re-read it.

I dabble in shares a bit. Held onto this stock AIMT for the past 8-10 months, it popped $24 a share overnight today, due to them being bought out! So I will be booking a nice little profit!

Vix has been ticking up all morning and so was DOW for a while... Now it looks like we are headed down to retrace to some support. Kinda odd to have VIX going up along WITH the index going up. So something had to give obviously. There were some big limit order on DOW at 28,675 (one was 98 contracts and other was 59 contracts)... I thought maybe it would hold, but it had no follow thru that I could detect so I'm hedging it for a little bit to the short side, and will cover it soon...
+$1200 approx for today -- hopefully can hold onto that and top it off to $2k.
