Sorry I need help …..
as regards preset 5min it is ok,Tester starts and chart goes on.
as regards preset EU1h upload by CDSAA, Tester starts but there are not opening position since two years.
I read that other trader had same problem but it may be that I skipped the explanations on some pages

Blessing3 traders are not afraid of any incoming news. News do not change the long term market direction in one trading day.

Blessing3 trading account size strategy can handle the volatility when market reacts to news, etc.....

in the worst case scenario there is the emergency use of the hard POSL.

Blessing uses ATR to build the grid, assuming you're not doing it manually.

You can either set the timeframe to the chart timeframe or whatever variation you desire, or allow Strategy Tester to find the 'best' setting. I go back and forth on that myself.

The best way to answer these questions is to try things and see what Strategy Tester comes up with. Unfortunately, that takes time.

doing all that and learning took me 2 years before I went live and that was more than 10 years ago...

the time spent was all worth it.

I use ATR(100) days on the Daily no matter which TF I run my B3 on.
Changing chart TF does not impact B3 live.

I've been thinking about hedging lately. And about what someone here said a while back about running two Blessing instances per pair. One for longs and a separate one for shorts. Both free to trade in their one direction at any time.

Seems like that might be a better version of hedging. Perhaps less hit or miss than using Blessing's hedge option. Hopefully a smarter more profitable kind of hedge. When things take off in the wrong direction the other instance can hopefully take up the slack.

Any thoughts or experiences on this idea would be appreciated.

I recall it was jtatday senior member TheTramp who introduced TradeBothWays TBW when hedging was prohibited by the US regulators.

I have old copies of the forum discussion topic back then. Attached pdfs, not sure these would be of any use.

I do run TBW since 2013 but I run that with a different approach using the 'trend/range' settings based on Weekly.
I have TBW running in EURUSD, GBPUSD and EURGBP.
You can allocate a portion of your trading capital and diversify trading with Blessing3.

Hi Richard I've been reading the thread here for almost over a month and there as some great points you've pointed out with regards to optimization especially with the blessing Ea is it possible to contact you through email to discuss a few things with you ( not entirely opened to embarrass myself on how little I understand optimization ) , however I do see the importance of it

No. I only use Blessing3 v3.9.6.09 that's my base version for live trading.

Do you guys use holiday shutdown for weekends? Or is there an easier option? In backtesting I keep getting hammered over different weekends so I figure its safer to close out on Friday night to be safe.

I have converted the relevant section over to a Global Variable and am conducting some more testing. The more I read the more I understand which is a good thing. I just wish the variable names were longer and there were more comments in the code. You'd think for something this old there would be an awesome amount of comments all through it.

The holiday shutdown function will not close your open trades. It would prevent B3 from opening any new trades during the specified holiday period, i.e. the W/E. If you actually want to close out your trades before the market closes on a Friday you should use the 'emergency close all' function (set to true) and this will close all your trades. You will also need to set the 'shutdown' function to true before closing you open trades to prevent B3 from opening any further trades before the market shuts. Don't forget the return these settings to false before the market re-opens.

Update - Project Blessing 3 v3.9.6.15 for MetaTrader 5 only

Hi everyone!
I was absent and only had the opportunity to restart testing now.

So, resuming the testing of the version for MetaTrader 5, I attach the version 5 for more testing.

The developer analyzed the errors reported by us and found that the problem appears to be in the testing method. (Modeling: Open prices only) He says the following:

"The problem is that the data is used unpredictably. If necessary, we can contact technical support to clarify the reasons.
An alternative solution may be testing on all ticks. We checked and there are no errors.
When testing on real data, these errors were not detected."

Can you please help me to understand if that makes sense and ask him to contact technical support or if it is worth accepting this version and asking for the MQ5 file, paying the remainder or not?

As usual, all of your inputs are very much appreciated.

Thanks for handling this. Most appreciated.

It's very hard to tell what's going on without source. The observations I made earlier still apply. I've not seen a problem going between Open prices and Ticks with mt5, it would surprise me if there is one.

I'm willing to accept the code and fix it. It was working quite well within limits during the last test.

If the code is not too messy it can probably be fixed fairly easily. He's done the hard part.
