FTMO - For serious traders

anyone else noticing bad server lag ... difficulty with the trades again.

they already kicked me from my funded so not sure. Waiting for support to either compensate. Its unfortunate they NEED to have communication in times like this and tell us not to trade. Server lag is impossible if you are a scalper

i screen recorded when it started. It happened all night. Then i opened some big lot scalps on EURCAD and the damn chart froze with “busy”. EURCAD mooned and by thr etike i came back closing and opening i was at 5100$ overall. Mt4 said 4800$ but the metrix said 5100. So i guess the time it lagged was the time i got hit. It sucks honestly i worked hard for my funded. I had 48 trades won out of 49 then the lag happened and i got kicked

Its crutual for them to atleast comunicate with you abaut what happened and come to some sort of agreement with them and the broker you use with them....There are many,many readers/traders here on FF and they can loose a lot of buisness if they dont act so its fear for both partys,,And what is the daily loss you went over ore was it the total loss so its negative 5100 dollars now......If the total of account is just slightly negative mayby you can offer to deposit half of the negative balance with them just try to come to some sort of agreement if the account is positive even the loss then you can mayby offer them your profit share for this month ore someting with theese sharks you have to give to get someting back....That is the sad truth....A friend of mine that trades for another prop firm made a huuge profit on oil i think it was and i am not sure how much,but i think it was 7% on one trade and the propfirm took away most of the profit and blamed the liquidity provider and that was that and he offered to split the profit they took from him and they agreed to do that.....Mayby you wrote in earlier posts abaut how your account looks like,but if you won 48 trades of 49 it should be positive even a big loss on one trade....i have no experience with prop firms but this is a few pointers on how you can try and save your acccount so you can take back the profit next month instead of being kicked out and start over with a new challenge...

basically im a scalper and i had a few EURCAD positions open. The trades went into negative no big deal i tried closing wouldn’t let me and chart kept freezing. It came back -30 pips so i let it run a bit then the lag started again. EURCAD had a massive move to the upside and ofcourse the datafeed lagged and i couldn’t see the actual drawdown. I rushed over to the website to see the metrix and it wouldn’t update. I opened a short again and as soon as i was in profit i went to close and mt4 froze AGAIN and when i came back it wad -1100 and that was the point i hit DD. Regardless like i hope FTMO doesn’t kick me from the funded over there own server side issue with 0 communication. They posted about it 24 hours later but wasn’t even sure when it was fixed. Live chat told me 100s were affected. It isn’t a broker its there own live feed thing so im definitely switching to a broker after this. I genuinely hope they don’t boot me because i have a strong feeling they might i don’t know why. Ill post all the relevant emails and proof and account with recordings if they do kick me but if they refund I’ll definitely be making a recommendation to my 30k telegram users

which broker did you choose for the challenge? Who are you going to change to?

it wasn’t the challenge it was the actual live account. I was with there FTMO LIVE FEED thing and then the server went to shit. I guess its still lagging but i have no access anymore they kicked me automatically until the investigation is done

I can assure you that if they have any reason ore way legaly to kick you they will their buisness is all abaut the challenge fees not What their traders make for them when your trading their feed the trades probebly dont even go into the market the first months untiil you can show consistency....The 90/90/90 rule apply to thoose that apply for challenge with them also....90% of all new traders loose 90% of their money in the first 90 days....So lets say 10% make it to they get funded then mayby 10% of thoose funded make it 3 months and so on so when you get them to comunicate with you play nice...lol..I am sure that guy from them here on this tread will comment on this issue eventually....Good luck...

Hey guys im freaking out a little. I finally got funded and the servers seemed to have issues all night. I couldn't open or close any trades and i was scalping and had bigger lots. The feed wouldn't update and i went 100$ over the drawdown and they kicked me from the account. i searched previously and found this was an issue before with the datafeed and will definitely be changing brokers. They sent an email out but im worried they will still kick me. Has anyone had any issues? live support told me i won't be kicked but i have terrible anxiety and...

I don’t know the exact details of your case so I can’t give you any guarantees, but if there was a technical issue with a broker, we always take that into account. We usually disregard the trades that were affected by the broker issues on the Challenge and Verification accounts. For the FTMO Accounts, we often compensate for the affected trades, but first of all we must investigate your case.

You can imagine that we really do not wish to have any issues on our platform, but sadly it happens sometimes.
We always recommend setting SL and TP on each trade as you can never be 100% sure to be able to maintain access to the market.

If your trades got affected by technical issues of the broker, please email us at [email protected] detailing the issue, the time it happened, the trade IDs of the trades affected and if you do have any evidence supporting your claims, please attach it too.
If there were technical issues, we will offer a solution – often disregarding the impacted trades.

We are always trying to be fair to everybody, even if that has some immediate costs to our business. First of all, it should be a default behaviour for everyone and secondly, with such attitude and reputation, we hope to be in business for decades to come. So even if we had a legal way, we would not go that way if we deemed a client to be right and that the issue was out of their control.

Well I woke up and traded around 4.00am (GMT) and there were constant "no connection" messages when trying to open/close a trade. I presume that it's low latency problem during the Asian trading session?

they sent out an email 24 hours later then when it happened. Im trusting tomas that they will disregard that trading day and they are still having issues. I wish they had a discord channel we could go to when issues were happening or automatically be told that theres issues don’t trade

Yeah they have been having issues everyday it seems with the feed. Day 3 nothing as of right now for support in terms of if im going to get compensated or kicked. Im assuming its because of all the emails they have but again i wish they could just give you reassurance or something

I think we all discovered good practice to place small lot trade, to test if servers ok before going all in, until everything gets sorted out.

I've seen the server/trading platform issues before at another prop firm...typically from growing pains.

What i bloody great start to the morning, i don't know if it was my end or theirs, but i wanted 4lots buy on EURUSD i hit the back key to clear the lots input box to input 4 but i don't think the box cleared as it froze ended up buy 34 lots, wiped 1% of my profits in 1 trade. Damn it!!

I love the idea of prop firms. Unfortunately, not many of them are good enough to use. I have 3 prop firms on my list I'm going to use. FTMO is one of them but it is last on the list.
Imagine fully ripe banana. Very sweet and it's a joy to eat it. Prop firms are like a banana. BUT many prop firms are rotten and some are still green and unripe. Only very few are nice yellow and ripe.
FTMO is still green, unripe and not ready to eat. But it has a great potential to become great one day. I've been watching FTMO for many months now and I like the progress. I see many traders with greedy eyes eating green banana. Many traders failing 3 or more Challenges to get on the train with a view of big money. I guess that will never change.
The most important criteria to choose prop firm is high quality broker. What I do not understand is this. You start a prop firm and use millions of dollars to invest in traders and you choose lame low quality retail broker. How does that make sense?
I want to sign up with FTMO. But I am waiting for them to offer proper high quality broker and better services. There is not one single good enough broker on their list to use for me.
LMAX servers problems are unforgivable. Should not happen. Twice in very short time period?

What needs to improve (I hope FTMO will take some of it into consideration):
- bring some high quality brokers (not the retail garbage), there must be brokers who do not allow clients with less that $10,000 for example, the ones with solid and tested execution
- invest more money into services you provide (this may not be possible if you are short on money to invest), your website needs improvements, for example broker review is so very low quality (many people must open demo accounts from many brokers to see spreads and execution quality)
- work harder on your communication channels
- many traders plan to get $300K AUM and grow it, is trading on demo servers the best you can do? I think you can do much better than that

I am not going to criticize trading rules. FTMO decided the rules and if we want to use FTMO than we have to respect their decisions.
Therefore, traders please stop complaining about restrictions.
If you complain about time limit, then you do not understand the nature of the Challenge. Challenge is not an evaluation of your trading skill. It is impossible to evaluate your trading skill when you need only 10 trading days to pass the Challenge. Challenge is a 'competition' style game. You get 30 days to achieve the target. I see many Challenges where traders reached the target in few trades in maybe 1-2 days using very high lot sizing. Nature of the Challenge forces you to do that because it is competition and not evaluation of your trading skill. So if you're not willing to enter 30-day competition and you want to trade small and take time to achieve target needed to get funded, then FTMO is not for you.
If you complain about 5% Daily Limit, then you are not a prop firm trader material but a gambler who should risk his own money and not ask prop firm to back him. I think 5% Daily Limit is too generous and should be lowered!!! It only invites gambler-style traders.

I see many people complaining and some attacking FTMO.
If you complain, then you haven't done your due diligence. Many people are so lazy that they don't even read entire website and FAQ and watch youtube videos to learn as much as possible before signing up for Challenge. It's only your fault. FTMO has certain amount of resources and they do what they can with it. Of course, there is always room for improvement.
If you attack FTMO that it is a scam, then you are just pointing out your intellectual limits because you are unable to conduct simple due diligence investigation.

Overall, I like FTMO. BUT the service they provide is not at the level where I would be confident to commit myself for years to build long-term relationship.
I cheer for you and hope that the speed of improving your services will go only up.
