last week , I downloaded TOS and just clicking around to understand this software. tos is not bad, depends how it responds to the live datafeed ( when you trade live ) …. are you trading live with TD ? how is IG US for fx trading. I don't see
any website that I can use to read IG US reviews...how is the execution or slippage on TD Ameritrade ?

I haven't trade yet with TD, But my guess, and some suggestion from senior traders i said about TD. IG's review also good!

AMP Global for their MT5 all in one platform. I like the diversity and ability to trade Real Exchange traded futures and micros along with forex. They're cheap too.

I actually traded with IB and FXCM. The biggest advantage of IB is that very low spreads. Maybe I wasn't patient enough but I never liked their platform so after 3 months I ditched IB. FXCM was better for me because of MT4. Since it was banned in the US I would never trade with FXCM again. I have been happily trading with OANDA since 2005

Canadian trader here; any thoughts on upcoming 2020 Q2 update with more bs fees?
I'm considering moving my whole account to ibkr, albeit lack of MT4.

What were your complaints about IBKR?
IBKR allows trading forex 24/7 right? (except holidays and weekends)

broker, I live chat with them. They seem to be very haughty. They will end the conversation with you if they find you are not of much benefit to them. Also, they are big brokers, but they are missing out there, not their own.

Been trading with them for several years and my number one complaint is their customer support, or sometimes, lack there of, just as Kavanto mentioned. IB has been catering to professionals for years and their customer support sometimes behave as if everything should be self-evident. They're not terrible and there are some very nice, friendly people as well but overall they could be way better.

However, in terms of pricing and execution they're second to none, especially if your trading standard lots and above. They're a serious broker, who has been in business for 40+ years, who accept retail clients but really cater to the professionals/larger traders. And with the diversity of market access they provide, no one outside of a Tier 1 PB could really offer you something superior as a one-stop-shop.

If you want 100-500:1 leverage, they will tell you to get lost. But if you're trading size and want access to the world markets. this is probably your best bet.

Sorry for the late reply I didn't see your post earlier. No complaint at all. IB is a good broker but frankly I was never able to get used to their platform. Since your post was in February you now had enough time to make up your mind about trading using that firm. I just hope that you can get used to their platform.

I, too, have heard bad reviews about the kind of customer service they offer. They usually ask to figure out things from their website with no support. Sometimes the sell orders don't get through and often unwanted positions are left on hold.

Hi every one

IB is the only choice allowed in Saudi Arabia up to date , Not directly but by local banks
and i dont know why !

So it is "take it or leave it"

Any way
I am using there TWS , It is very complicated , I do Forex trading only

Here is a list of negatives:-

-Hard to adjust the trend lines
-No MACD
-Channels drawing manually ( two lines )
-If you don't use "stop limit " order, you can place order at 1.9000 and get filled at the moon
-Orders are time limited , to avoid this you have to chose GTC
-basic Fibonacci lines , no extensions
-Have to convert the exchange to the base currency USD after each trade
-Hard to find full information for TWS online at any language
-The IB short videos on YouTube only headlines

To be honest there are many advantages , And every one is talking about it and it is easy to find

By the way is there any one can explain how to hedge trades on TWS

Last few years, on several occasions, I was about to open an account with IB. Every time, after reading reviews, I changed my mind. Reviews are horrifying. FXCM almost the same.
This thread started in 2008 and back then FXCM and IB, maybe, were the best. But not these days...

anyone trade forex with IB in Canada? I want to get away from Oanada. Their platform looks so clancky and old fashioned...How do you scalp with it?...Can you execute trades fast?

I am interested as well. I've read somewhere that IB Canada doesn't have execution like US. Also, the margin is worse.
