Hey, thanks for Sharing the EA. Used your Seeting File (EURUSD H1) for backtesting a 2000€ Account. Back in 2010 it Crashes within the first Month. Any Ideas on this? Maybe we find a solution together.

Blessing does not use artificial intelligence. It's really not that smart.

But if you learn how to use it it can make money.

The market changes, and Blessing doesn't really know how to change with it -- other than you re-optimizing it.

And, as I've said many many times, set files from different brokers don't work nearly as well.

You really need to learn how to optimize on your broker's data, or find someone else that has the same broker to do it for you.

Who's odd theory is that?

None of the brokers I've looked at have the same data.

How many times must I say: This is NOT the Stock Market!

The stock market has a Central Authority. There is NO single central authority for Forex.

Every broker gets their data from a collection of other brokers they agree to connect to. In a sense, Forex brokers are kind of like the bucket shops of old (read: Reminiscences of a Stock Operator.) If they wanted to they could actually make up the prices!

Forex brokers data are quite similar, of course. Or the broker wouldn't stay in business long. But for the purposes of trading with EAs the difference is not small. Especially for smaller time-frames. Above all else, the spread is made up by each broker, subject to his whim.

I have three different brokers and I can't even use the set file from one to start optimizing for another. It's faster to start from scratch. They are that different.

I know other places on the net gloss over this or never even mention it. Took me a while to learn this. It's very important. Learn it!

Hi Richard,

I am using 1:1 ratio. I set my SL/TP to 100pips, but I am seeing strange results when both SL and TP hits.

Whenever SL hits it was nearly 100 pips and when TP hits it was very low. 10 pips,25pips ....


Please let me know how to correct this.

I don't know. I usually just let Strategy Tester lead the way and select the best settings.

Between Strategy Tester and Blessing's magic, things come together.

I may have starting guesses for things, but testing finds the sweet spots. If I don't like what comes up I try something else, different time-frames, different currencies, etc. Then test it on Demo if I'm not sure.

That is spread and usually spread widens may be it closed during that widened spread.

There's still a lot of work to be done to make Blessing MT5 compatible. There are some libraries out there but I haven't seen one that's very complete. So many functions to support.

If anyone knows of a more complete, preferably open source, library for conversion from MT4 to MT5 please let me know.

I understand the emphasis in your words ... you must have repeated them several times already! I have absorbed a lot of your posts and, surely, I still have many to read. I always learn something! Thank you for sharing the information and thank you for the reading suggestion. In fact, I already thought if the stock market is more regulated and stable, then we could give priority to the conversion of Blessing to MT5. In this way, we could trade stocks, ETF, crypto, etc. maybe with much better results
However, in MT4, I try two or three brokers and it is distressing at times! When I find a very good result, even at the same broker, just change to a month before or after, and the result changes dramatically! It's distressing! I wanted to understand why the results were so different, when the only variable that changed was to start a month before or after! ... does the entry or exit of an altered operation change everything else that the EA does next?
Anyway, soon I share some results I got, although it seems to be worth nothing to others, since everything is different from broker to broker ... Thank you!

As I mentioned before, I don't understand anything about MQL4 or 5 code, but for the conversion, we would have to go read all the MQL5 documentation and start replacing the code from line 1 to the end, is that it?
For example, for the MQL4 function, say: Comment (Bid);
We would have to replace it with: Comment (SymbolInfoDouble (Symbol (), SYMBOL_BID));

...It must be scary:

I don't know what happened. fxtrue did some nice work cleaning up some issues on the MT4 version. But his MT5 version was unusable. Parameters used the comments from the code instead of the original names in the manual and it was a bit of a mess. It never worked for me.

With no source it wasn't fixable. I guess he gave up.

Since he had just subscribed to the site I suspect he was here to make a buck selling something, I don't know.

Blessing is open source. Anything that takes us away from that is not acceptable.

I don't want to trade a black box.

I agree! Blessing has always been open source and should remain so, in memory of those who created it and the many who helped it to be what it is today! That is why I would like someone who knows code, to arrange the overlay lines, as they are an original feature that must be maintained. sometimes it helps to understand the behavior of the EA. I also think the code should be on GitHub. Yesterday I put an announcement to see if a programmer offered to convert the code to MQL5. We will see...

I've read the Manual 50 times and there are one or two options I want to explore, but I don't know if I can try what I need, that's why I like to see the lines in the overlay ...
For example, regarding the exit of the operation, the parameter [TSLPips] says the following: "Pips for trailing stop loss from BE + TSLPips: + ve = fixed trail; -ve = reducing trail; 0 = off" that is, if I put -10, I should start with a negative trailing stop of 10 pips, which would reduce, but it seems that this is not what happens. At the time when the JTA Today forum existed, I saw any post that said it was a Blessing Pro feature, but I never understood why the code refers to a positive or negative trailing stop, if the latter doesn't work! Any thoughts on this?

Another parameter that I doubt is the following: In the MaximizeProfit section, in the [ProfitSet] parameter can you start with a profit set of -10 pips? I think it would work much better ... Explaining, if an operation starts in your favor, as soon as it reaches a profit of 10 pips, move the takeProfit forward +10 pips and the TrailingProfit would set itself at -5 pips from that profit point, instead of staying at 10, so that the operation is completed much faster than it should.

I continue with the tests on EURUSD for M5, with version 3.9.6.15 ...
