In FOREX, is 10% return per month good enough?

from last 2 month the return percentage is very low from my own trading , but um trying to survive in a proper way. whats your trading conditions mate right now in this situation ?

You need to be thinking in terms of percentages and not in terms of amount.

10% monthly is a percentage that most will kill for. If gotten consistently, that's an ROI of over 100% yearly. Imagine that kind of return on a 100k account or a 500k account.

Thinking in percentage is part of psychology.

if you can do 10% a month consistently you are set.

If you are making a 10% return for a month consistently this is a good amount and keep it up.

Consistency is the key

If one can profit 10% every single month that is a pretty good result indeed. Most traders struggle to profit even a fraction of that.

But most can suffer significant losses, because they don't have enough initial capital that can be used to open a new position, in case of loss. For most professional traders, the average monthly Forex income is between 1 and 10 percent.
Remember: you'll not get a return on your investment unless you make sufficient effort to learn how to use the analytics and best trading tools that professional traders also use.
Excessive trading activity is usually caused by wrong thinking, it leads the trader to believe in trading opportunities where they don't exist.... Traders can't realize it, and this is where the deception happens.
There are two types of excessive trading activity - trading too often or trading too much. Both, as we know, aren't what is necessary for successful work at Forex.
The point is that a trader doesn't need to make a lot of deals, it is enough to make the right ones. By the time you start trading on a real account, you should have a strategy with which you'll open trades.
There is no single winning strategy in Forex, the best strategy is the one that suits you. Just follow your own strategy, not chase after profitable forex strategies that may not work for you.

I feel it is too hard to keep my account positive every month. should make as much as possible, also accepted.

I’m aware that there are traders making 10% and more consistently for years so I am not going to say that it is impossible for anyone, rather I feel that every trader is different and everyone makes their own way. But I know that getting to 10% doesn’t come easily and anyone who is able to achieve that percentage must have had a tremendous amount of practice and experience.

10% per month is the dream number of thousands of people already. But, you are sure in the future, every month you have 10% of the profits are sustainable or not

10% per month is better than good enough!! its Fantastic if someone can achieve this consistently with a net profit...

But people need to be realistic, you cant dictate what the market gives you and you cant force it to give you 10% per month unless

1.You take more risk and accept high draw downs
2. Open to loose more by chasing an arbitrary percentage like 10%

If you notice professional traders, they say we aim or average so much percentage over a year or over month.

They don't say we make 10% per month, this is absurd. There's no certainty in ROI.. Different market conditions, nets you a different %. you can aim to achieve to achieve these % on average.

Anyone that can average 5% per month consistently is A GREAT TRADER!!! Does anyone here average 10% or more here for the last 24 month????

Yeah. Achieving 10% per month boosts your confidence to another level. What else can one ask for ?

I agree that even 5% is quite something and someone achieving 10% consistently is truly exceptional.

$40 USD a day on a $100,000 USD account do result in over 200% annually ($307k@52w)?!?

Same is with $4 a day on a $10k account?
Same is $0.40 a day on a $1k account?

40/d means a constant increase over time; there is less than 260 trading days in a year (52x5), meaning say 40x260.. which is not - much.

not really. $40/d means 0.01 on week no.1. On week no.10 is $400 with lot 0.10. On week no.52 is $10,800 with lot 0.52.

unfortunately, I got myself deluded, as I was working with my $30/d setup and there was rounding on the first decimal. here is the correct output for $40/d:

sure, you are right.

however, it all depends how much does it cost to get hands on $40/d? in my case, i can’t get anywhere near of 1/3 of the max lot involved in any of 52 weeks. so, it is more likely over 250%/y.
