Practice

I just learned the basic and I wanna try to look for some pattern in the charts.
I don't know how to operate on the market and I want to understand, the mechanic of trading, and when I will be ready, jump in.
I don't wanna use a demo account, I just wanna backtest to see the result pretty fast and try to correct errors from beginning.
Sounds good or is a silly idea?

what you do is go to your mt4 history center and download whichever currency you want to backtest on. set the strategy tester to the vhands ea and set up templates etc exactly as per the instruction manual it comes with (literally do it word for word or you might miss something subtle and make it not work quite right). then set your start and end dates in the mt4 strategy tester, start the vhands ea, and then you can practice trading real data from the past simply by dragging the vhands lines etc.

personally i no longer use it because i don't like having to pause, double tap a line, drag it to the chart, unpause... wash rinse repeat. i wrote my own scripts and simple ea that allow me to just press hotkeys on my keyboard to simulate buys and sells as the charts fly by at almost full speed. but vhands is a great way to start backtesting ideas when you have it set up right and understand how to use it properly.

also, note that you need to have a 'chart shift' in the mt4 chart to see the vhands trading objects. this is beside the 'auto scroll' button which is to the right of the zoom in and out buttons.

Practice the feeling you get when you fail to make a profit having worked really hard using all your expertise and experience. Quite unlike working hard at almost anything else. Good luck!

keep practicing continuously is really difficult and honestly speaking best habit in the world at any section.

I don't wanna use a demo account - Because? If you want to learn, you should learn from you're mistakes. Mistakes can also be made on a demo. A lot more than live...

by and large traders take dmeo for practicing demo , but i for all time use real account with minor balance use for practice trading , because in demo there is no real money and as a result no seriousness when trading , trade in micro account and bring good real knowledge and experience. good luck

That is why it is so important to take demo trading seriously and not play around.

I think whats different most from live trading from backtesting is the emotions involved. The greed, fear, anxious...

One needs to keep such emotions in check if they wish to learn to trade well.

The practice is the key to success in Forex trading and if you have practice then you will get some experience and these things will help you to make a good way in Trading. You can do some good practice with a demo account. you should do trading with a demo account for alt least 3 months and then start real trading with real money.

you cannot just learn the basics and jump on to correct the errors from the beginning. You need to practice and gain trading experience. Going through the basics alone will not provide you every detail wish is required to become a good trader. It only comes with experience. Losses and profits are all connected. One cannot assure or expect permanent profits.

I am just concerned to why do you not want to learn via demo account. Looking for the result fast will not end up well in the future so you will need to take it slow and start with demo account.

so many fines lines from last couple of replies . almost all have real knowledge about patience in Forex trading.

I think practice is perfect,. And everything is similar to what you have in the live account. The more you practice the better you get, I mean it's the same market.. But the emotions that are tied to the real money in your live account is what you should really work on, that's where the trick is.. Cos you could do so well on demo with no emotions attached because you know its not your money but the moment you go live,. Boom! Your heartbeat increases its pace cos you now know its real money..
So the psychology that work for me is,. Give yourself a non-greedy target no matter how small it might look at first its something(i.e calculate $5 for 5 trading days for 1 month.) You get it, you end all trades for the and watch the market.. Subsequently you can make it 10 and then you continue from there..

I have blown my account 2 times jumping in to early without enough practice if I could go back first I would practice on a demo until I have a winning strategy, and most importantly a money management strategy then worry about trading money.
