How can I get Period() value in the Alert message? Basically if I need to know on which timeframe the indicator alerted me on. Thanks.

Hi, I got this to work for a simple ex4 indicator but I'm not sure what to input for the signal source of a complex .ex4 like the one attached. I want to create overbought/oversold signals but there are so many parameters, I'm not sure what I need to put in or how to.

What could possibly be done with compiled code? Do you have the source? *.mq4

Even when it's a compiled file, as long as you put in the name, timeframe, parameters, etc in their order in the signal source it should work anyways. And no, unfortunately I don't have the source code. The problem I'm running into now is that the dsl ocn nxc averages (mtf + alerts + arrows).ex4 indicator is not even being found by alertme because the information between the parenthesis "mtf + alerts + arrows" is being deleted when I type it into the signal source. The dsl ocn nxc indicator also doesn't let me rename it so not sure how to get past that.

I'm also not sure how to handle the drop down selections. For example, the default value for NDX smoothing double smooth period is "false", would I type 0 or type false? And for NDX & NST smoothing MA method there's a selection of dozens of different thing, if the default is "Exponential Moving Average - EMA" would I type it like that or should I type "7" since it's the 7th option from the top.

I'm a huge noob at this.

If I understand this correctly, can it be setup to alert on this simple condition of the close price which turns the 9 period EMA?

How does it work?

The indicator activates the buy and sell signal when a candle closes turning the 9 period EMA.

How to use it?

One way of using it, proposed by Larry Williams, is to enter a trade with a buy stop order one tick above the high of the candle with the buy signal, placing the stop loss order one tick below the candle's low. When there's a sell signal instead, place a sell stop order one tick below the low of the candle with the sell signal, and a stop loss one tick above the candle's high.
If the entry stop order is not filled on the next candle, you can cancel it and wait for another signal.
If filled, the arrow will change color and it is possible then to trail the stop loss order based on the 9 period EMA and exit the trade when there's a new opposing signal to get the most profit of the new trend.

Tip:
Great for early entries on big reversals. Just be careful with it inside narrow sideways ranges.
