A Spring is a Wyckoffian concept and therefore I do not know the actual technical definition.

However, I tend to think of Springs as having the following characteristics:

1. Increasing range
2. Makes a lower low than the previous bar.
3. Closes in the upper portion of its range (the higher the better).

I would identify all those three intervals as Springs. Tradeguider identifies them as follows:

1. SOS- technically this is identified as Strength Coming In.
2. Stopping Volume
3. SOS-technically this is identified as Strength Coming In.

they ussually mark the end of accumulation(spring) and distribution(upthrust). u wanna look for springs in up trends and upthrusts in down trends, or in a range, and depending on the vol distribution(vol for example comin from the bottom of the range in large amounts and low vol at the top are signs of accumulation) and then u see the spring, which imho is a false break, shakeout etc, confirmed with the bull reaction. that would be an entry, or what it usually does is a low vol test, second entry. and ofc there are variations, but volume leads the way, and if u know how to interpret that, u r miles ahead of every1else.

Spring is not necessarily one candle, it can and do happen in 1 or more candles, the price can go below the level and close there and after a few candles it can break and close above the level, the key here is to see how the price breaks above the level, you should see a strong candle, it's usually on higher volume (SOS). I believe on the screens I posted earlier you can find some variations. Also a spring can happen only at a level which hasn't been breaked or touched, at a level where the crowd usually hides their stops. Spring is a sign of manipulation, because as we know, when a price breaks down many will start selling (different breakout strategies), others will wait for a pullback and also sell, many will have their stops below that level and will start closing their longs, which are also sells. All this volume of sell orders is bought back by the strong holders (market maker, composite man, reptilians, call it whatever you want), and when there is no supply left price goes up.
Vice versa for upthrusts.

kiwi dollar, small 1hr fib, overall bearish enviroment, but the strenght that came in yesterday and today inside that small fib let me to believe that the bigger retracement was in play to reach 0.61000 area.
euro dollar, huge climactic down bar with the highest vol in last 2 days fakin to break the lows of last 5 trading days(fake break with buying comin in into new low ground for the day or week) with a nice bull reaction(hammer). that was also the area where they marked price up agressive. was targeting the 50% pullback specially when there s strenght.that also the 4hr fib from high to low of that range.
Eur jpy much like EU except for the fib, also i liked how clean the setup was on 5m, i got out with 14 pips due to high impact news and plus EURO weakness, so if the EU would have reached it s 50% retrace while EJ was stagnant, more then likely would both fall since there s a bit of correlation.
AU much like kiwi, and it seems as soon as it reached that fib it pulled back. i m not swing trading, plus there were no other valid setups today atleast according to how i trade, so all in all i got out with 100 pips from all 4 trades before news. good day. ofc i m always looking to go with the trend first, but since the chart is pointing to retracements and the volume also, why not..1hr charts u can look up, don t wanna cluster the thread with 100 charts in 1 post. the drawdawn i endured cos after the break of the AR, the vol at the top was low, there wasn t weakness so price ussualy does the low vol test, had it been a spike in vol or a considerable amount increase and no follow thro i d cut the trade right there. sometimes comes back inside the AR on very low vol makin a double bottom or double top(fake break) which actually increases the odds or probability of the trade.

Thinking it might be time to move up to futures. I like the variety of pairs to trade on Forex and position size scales a lot better.

But Forex pairs are going back to 50 pips a day which is somewhere around 0.50% change per day. Nasdaq is still holding around 200-300 points per day which is closer to 3%.

It took me 4 or 5 years to really get my head around VSA, but its amazing. All you need is volume and a horizontal line, something that crosses my mind every now and then is what happens when metatrader discontinues MT4 and the traders who are dependent on custom indicators? MT4 was released 15 years ago, will it be around in another 15 years?

Closed 75% of UJ shorts, BE and see if it runs. The TPs had already been hit before I was able to take a screen shots.

One of the things I started noticing lately on AUD pairs they tend to react volume during Asian sessions, if you think about it, it makes sense due to AUD session opens just before Asia does.

I haven't checked out other pairs like Euro reacting to volume during European session.

Closed this out for +15.

About a month ago I started looking at the daily open price to give me an idea if price ranging or trending. The last three days there hasn't been any kind of trend, one day price hangs below the open the next day price is hanging above the open. So with this range I'm not trying to hit any home run trades.

Also volume is picking up at today's open, this volume could be to push price lower or buyers stepping in to take price up. For me its not worth holding.
