This crisis is like fast forward version of 2008-2009 crisis. Just flash back and see whatever happened then in monthly timeframe has happened and will happen in weekly timeframe in 2020, ie. one month of 2008 is one week or shorter in 2020 crisis.
the QE of 2008 took several months, in this crisis took a few weeks.
there is a possibility that market is done considering risk averse and start to weigh in the inflation effects of the Fed stimulus package for coming weeks.

just look at the December 2008 monthly candle of eu. It can be easily the case for May 2020 monthly candle. I won’t get surprised if it continues next week and see 1.12 by the end of next week.
all in all market behaves the way human behave and it’s not so different patterns in many different market crash scenarios.

Hello clan!

since markets are closed, I thought I should share a little bit about my experience thus far and hopefully get some input from experienced members on areas of improvement.

I started 3 months ago and with the corona situation, this is the only thing I seem to do during my waking hours. Look at charts, observe movement etc.

I started with $100 promo from FBS. I did trade demo for a bit but this promo money felt more real so I continued even though I did notice the requirement of having to trade 5 lots when you can only have 5 micro lot trades open at a time with this promo made it rather impossible for me to reach the target. Regardless I did manage to double it in about 2 months from start. Screen shot attached.

After this I opened a real account with another broker with $100 and have managed to grow it to $148 over a 3 week period. Screenshot attached.

Now as a beginner, should I take confidence from this? Sometimes I feel I should other times I feel I am reading too much into it.

Over the same 3 month period, I started trading with a certain pattern but over time I have phased that out and moved to pivots, trendlines and correlation as this seems to give me a better direction.

My problems:
- I am still hugely influenced by trade calls made by experienced members. Like today I got in at at 944 and that seemed to be a good entry since price never came back to it but when I saw a short call at 958, I closed for 18 pips thinking I missed something in the charts.

- I seem to prefer counter trend trading since the speed of movement of retrace is faster than the one in the direction of the trend or so it appears to me.

-I find it difficult to sit through the retrace when I am trading in direction of trend.

I have thought of upping the account to $1000 once I manage to double the current $100 account. Do you think this would be a wise move at this stage or should I still consider my performance to be a flook?

I wanted to add more but I am sleepy and the post is already long as is.

Thank you for your helpful input on this and thank you for responding to my questions everytime I have asked about anything.

My trade plan for next week:

Build shorts preferably above 1007 with SL at 1070, of course the farther the SL, the smaller the lots.
I have 1066 on my chart that should hold bullish PA.

Will micro scalp longs and shorts along the way based on H1/H4 wicks and tails + PA.
Not confident of making big longs as we closed the week below 0986 which is an important WR.
I think it will touch the 1.10+ area though, so micro longs should be okay.
Peace is more valuable than success.

13 day doubling rate is lessening. The U.S. death rate is leveling to under 2k per day. Today deaths are 65,783. Actually good news if you call it that. The doubling rate now is at about 35 days. So in 35 days, approx 65k more deaths are expected (65,783 X 2 =132k). At this current rate. Much better than the 2.5/13 day doubling rate in the past. It may curve down more soon. But the country "opening up", may change the trajectory to higher, in a few weeks. Time will tell. Numbers dont lie.

The gov ordered 100k body bags.

i was looking on google map into Georgia numbers, yesterday they went up above 1000,
also people are not really respecting measures and mask ( i.e. Pence) but others too so downward pressure is slow/weak - but at least we are opening up economies. very important week to see progress.

not opening US looks more problematic than in Europe - or media just shows the protesters in US. here, we got calm not working and watching nflx

the protesters are a small minority with a big mouth. They make the news, focused on the AR, on their side.
