DislikedPresently, while some of this needs to do with the brokers tricks and misdirecting training that they put out there for their own particular benefit, it additionally needs to do with the traders also. Most traders lose, on the grounds that they don't regard forex trading as a venture. Without a doubt, the forex advertise moves regularly and it is open 24 hours per day, 5 days seven days. Be that as it may, this doesn't legitimize NOT regarding forex trading as a speculation.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hello, What I use to backtest renko is to have the mq4 file of either the indicator or the EA which converts realtime charts to renko charts and I modify the bit of code so that I can generate the output file in a proposed timeframe. I usually allow H4 given that I almost never use this timeframe. Just a warning with this way to do is that you risk to freeze the system if you use the same timeframe in input and in output, for which never allow H1. Now if you backtest a classic gap Renko chart, you will very probably have an issue at the...Ignored
Disliked{quote} To test for ordinary Renko - to deceive yourself. For testing, you need to use non-Gap Renko made by MathTrader7 (https://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=535170).Ignored
Disliked{quote} ... Another thing, I noticed a difference in the output renko chart between mt7 EA and another non gap renko EA.Ignored
Dislikedhello everyone, I didn’t really understand how to apply a strategy on the Renko graph, how to retrieve renko data to use it in my ea,Ignored
DislikedRenko has its main drawback, which is not a time-dependant object this means that you might set the renko box for 10 pips for example or an ATR(9) which can be 30 pips but suddenly you get a 50 pip falling knife! the renko will draw 5 boxes for example and the trade opportunity will be long gone! personally I don't find renko good enough in trading except that it helps me find Support and Resistance Levels easily and again Technical support and resistance are no more than a 33% percent probable events. --- I've tried to trade the renko...Ignored
DislikedHi everyone, I'm totally new to Renko charts. And I'm having a problem. Can anyone help? I downloaded the STG Renkochart 1.09 indicator a few hours ago and used it on a M1 chart. Everything is working fine. Almost. But just a few moments ago, I realized that on my regular time-based M1 chart, the GBPUSD swing low of today (May 20th, 2020) is 1.22214 (@ 10:37 AM, IC Markets server time) On the 10 pip brick size Renko chart, the low of today is 1.22274. That's a 6 pip difference which, imho, is huge. Does anyone know what is causing this? Does it...Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hi Bippo, that is quite a big descrepancy, I get small differences at times but nothing like that. I can't comment on the indicator/EA you are using, I'm not familiar with it, all I can say is that the EA/indicators I have used track the market more accurately than that. I've bought commercial indicators and I have used some from FF, personally I tend to use this one by default these days: https://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=535170 Cheers, DaveIgnored

Disliked{quote} Well, in a first place, the big disruption regards the DATES in addition to the PRICE... The non Renko screenshot is for 20 of may whereas the Renko chart is on the 19 of may... And looking at my GBPUSD M1 chart of the 19 of may, the price does not touch the 1.22214 at this very time. What happened so far??? Can't tell. I never used your Renko chart maker, sorry.Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hey Dave, Another question. May I ask what kind of discrepancies you're occasionally getting? Are we talking about 0.2 - 1.2 pips? Is that normal? I'm using Mathtrader7's Renko EA right now and I'm getting a discrepancy of 1.2 pips comparing the regular M1 chart low of May 19th, 23:42 (Broker: IC Markets) which is 1.22345 vs Mathtrader7's M3-based 10pip brick size chart low of 1.22333. Are these discrepancies just something traders who trade MT4 renko charts accept, or is there something wrong on my end? If it's the former, I will gladly...Ignored
