Hi

Anyone can advice where can i get accurate currency history data for backtesting use? I am presently trying tickstory. Is there any others that are accurate in its data?

hi, i am using the .14 version, but i cant see where to change buy or sell entries or both,....and by now only sell positions opened...Any tip?

Hi,

I've been trying to test with the settings mentioned in the first post in this thread. I'm using a Pepperstone demo account. It has been running for 3 days. So far it has only resulted in one trade: Gold/USD. And that is still open. The other 3 pairs for which settings files were provided have not been active at all. Is that to be expected? Seems a bit odd. The demo account has 10,000 Euros to trade with.

On my demo accounts (IC markets, Oanda , Globl Prime) you just see "allow dll imports" etc.
but not "allow import of external advisors, long&short positions, enable alerts and allow live trading of course.
Good to know since I consider live trading as well.

I'm using the v3.9.6.09 with cdsaa setfile for H1 EURUSD from page one of this thread. Is this version and setfile still making money?

Fascinating, @Takrooni! I would love to learn more. I have two strategies to determine buy/sell bias, one is ichimoku-based, the other uses three MA's. Do you reference the higher TF trend or do you derive your buy/sell bias from the current TF you are running Blessing on?

For example, I am running Blessing on EURUSD H1, and taking the analysis from the H4 chart to determine whether i put Blessing on Buy only or Sell only. Am i along the same lines as your technique?

Today i get a good set file for USDJPY for 1H, optimized with spread 5 - all ok. When i backtest with spread set to 2 i get stopped out because of the DD. It is optimized for my broker IC Markets. Can you test and put some results here? But I don't see the connection... Thank you.

No.
Lessons learned: strategy tester is good for a rough (!!!) test, more or less for functionality. Or you use a slow strategy and high hysteresis.
Take a look at a real world example from yesterday, how close things can be:

Strategy Tester can be used in many different ways and for different purposes.

For me it's all about finding repeating patterns and capitalizing on them.

Ten or 15 instances of Blessing is a nice way to cash in on a decent EA. Periodically tuning up the low performers.

Blessing was made for this. Better than a multi-pair EA, but more work.

Wanted to thank cdsaa and all the others who have put the time and effort into this!
Feel like I'm a little late to the party.. I have been running this on my demo account for around 3 months on many pairs.. I used the set files posted on the first page.. Started running on live account 2 weeks ago and results have been good.. GBP/USD EUR/USD and CAD/USD, had a pretty big draw down on the GBP pair but it pulled out.. not sure why but GBP/USD requires more margin than the other pairs so you definitely want to keep your account well capitalized..
On my Demo account I have been running on AUD/USD, it has been stuck for a while with all sells made and just trying to get out.. I'm thinking its going to be a very long time before it could escape this trade on it's own so I decided to try and help it along by closing the very first trade it made in this direction and letting the EA open another. Taking a loss on the closed position but hopefully getting out and moving on to profitable trades..

did you ever use bless in a scalping routine?
Are you so kind to share your insights to this?

Your Corona-Setfiles for GBPNZD and EURNZD on H4 are working very well.
Now think just the opposite: Perhaps it is possible to let bless do the dirty work for a scalp.

The original version 3.9.6.09 had the option for
B3Traditional (yes/no) and
ForceMarketCondition (Numbers, 1 as default)

How we can bring bles to scalp for us?

(Btw. in my experience bless performs good (from best to poor, based on pips; taken with Centaccount on VPS, last three weeks, daily DD up to 45%)
EURJPY
GBPNZD (with Richards setfile!)
EURUSD
EURGBP
GBPUSD

with a gap followed by these pairs
EURCAD
GBPAUD
GBPCHF
NZDCHF
NZDCAD
AUDNZD
EURCHF

All other pairs produced red numbers. CHFJPY is a killer.

Hi Pit-Lip! Thanks for sharing your thoughts/experience with us. Just one question: did you use that one setfile for all pairs? Then it is clear that it will only work well for some pairs. I am thinking of changing the code for the grid from rigid levels in points to percentage (fibo levels for example).

Set your timeframe to M5, set UseStopLoss to true and tune it up ...

Don't expect it to work on any broker besides the one you optimize it for.

I am currently running Blessing on a demo account on EURUSD (15min) and AUDNZD (5min) with the set files attached to post: https://forex-station.com/viewtopic.php?t=8472216 (which btw contains great explanation of Blessing's settings and functioning).
(main settings used BollingerEntry, MaxTrades=15, starting lot size = 0.01)

I'm finding that, while the win % is good, it places very few trades: It made 20c on $100, (using FBS cent account) in roughly 1 week (maybe 10 trades or so placed, for both pairs).

I've noticed from charts that it doesn't place trades very often while price is moving against last open traded (which is what martingale should do).

Is there a way to make it take more trades/behave more martingale-like (taking trades at more levels as trend moves against current basket) ?
