One principle of price action trading is to avoid trading a long-tailed candlestick outside an S/R zone without confirmation. The below video gives you a helpful technical reason. As usual, I have no financial interest in the presenter neither am I holding him up as a 'guru' to follow.

In the last few days, there has been a needless argument on FF over a popular trading strategy/model, specifically supply and demand trading; which was extended to support and resistance trading. It doesn't matter which side of the divide any trader belongs to. What really matters is the bottom line of Forex trading: Are you growing your trading capital consistently? For any trader who wants to last in this business, he or she should know what works or doesn't work for him or her. No system, strategy, model or indicator is the 'holy grail' of Forex trading because none is failure-proof. Stick to what works for you and be a master of it.

I think it would be good if you turned this thread into a library of the best info you find on the Internet dealing with trading. You could add links on your main post to posts within the thread as a reference point, with titles and a brief description.

Thanks. Jared trades stocks but his three-bar play strategy can be adapted for trading breakouts in Forex trading; particularly breakouts in the direction of the main/preceding trend.

Tell me more. Give me a summary, maybe your idea of the 'holy grail' of trading is different from mine, as indicated from post #1 of this thread. To qualify for the 'holy grail' of trading it must be somewhat like a tool or 'magic wand'/indicator that is failure-proof. The other day, somebody posted here that self-improvement is a 'holy grail', I know he was joking. I got his idea but it is not the 'holy grail' of trading.
